We realize you will receive many messages this Earth Day. Living here in Chester County, we are fortunate there are lots of organizations that truly care for our environment. Children’s Country Week Association is definitely one of those. We were founded back in 1875 by a visionary woman named Eliza Turner. She had a powerful vision - seeing that children living in an urban environment would benefit from what she called a country experience. Together with her friends, ...she started a movement, bringing children from the City of Philadelphia out here to Chester County, to learn about the natural world. Over the past 145 plus years, we have evolved rather significantly. Our youth development programs now range from outdoor education, to team building, to our summer camps. We are blessed to have almost 600 acres here at our special place. All of us here today are quite proud to carry on the legacy of service that Eliza started for us way back when. And, we fully embrace our role as stewards of all that we have at Paradise Farm Camps. On this special day, here’s hoping you get out and enjoy the outdoors or do something significant to help improve our natural resources. Although we have come a long way in protecting and preserving our shared environment, there is still so much more to be done.
