This is often the first credit card I recommend for clients. If you are dreaming about your travel future, check it out.
Travel is back! It's going to be mostly U.S.-based this summer as many international destinations remain off-limits. Have you ever thought about Pittsburgh? Here's why you should...
I join Kyle Hill, CFP in his series - "What the Hell is...?" to talk about CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERs. If you've heard about CFPs, but aren't really sure what they do or why they are important, it's worth a listen. #certifiedfinancialplanner
What the heck is a linear city? What I've been reading in travel and retirement.
The pandemic has near-retirees rethinking what is important in life. The answer for many is likely to be affordable retirement overseas. I expect the number of ex-pats to jump. Here are some locations to consider.
AARP mailers and colonoscopies. This is the universe’s way of letting you know retirement age is coming whether you like it or not. It's time to start planning. 7 questions to ask yourself. Do I have debt? Entering retirement with a mountain of debt is a sure-fire way to return to the workforce rapidly. Have I budgeted for travel in retirement? (63% of Americans 50+ say travel is an important retirement goal, but 67% of retirees 50+ have not budgeted for it).... Where am I going to live in retirement? You’re going to be pulled in many directions, and your cute grandkids will probably win out over all else, but it’s a question that you should seriously think about. Do I have enough to retire? You’re in the home stretch! It’s time to take advantage of catch-up contributions to make sure the answer is yes. Can I retire early? You might end up retiring early, whether you like it or not, so shave a few years off your retirement projections and be prepared if your company unceremoniously shows you the door. What am I going to do for healthcare? If you love to travel, this question becomes difficult. Original Medicare won’t cover you internationally. Weigh your needs and do your homework to identify the optimal decision. RBC Wealth Management Merrill Lynch
I've been to Italy several times, but never Naples. Consider it added to my #travel to-do list (the list is getting long during this pandemic) Some links on travel - what I've been reading
Never has International Sweatpants Day been celebrated by so many people worldwide - whether they realize it or not. So embrace the day and wear those sweats during your Zoom call. Your secret’s safe with me. However, one thing you don’t want to keep secret - your wishes in case you pass away. Take advantage of the new year to create a Death Binder. Morbidly named, but your loved ones will greatly appreciate your forethought. What documents should you include? I’m glad you a...sked: Key contacts with phone numbers and emails Will and living trust Power of attorney Investment accounts Bank and credit card accounts Safe-deposit box information Life insurance policies Paperwork for loans Automobile titles Property deeds A complete list of additional assets and liabilities Account and device passwords Letters to loved ones #Retirement planning for people who love to #travel #InternationalSweatpantsDay
Your year-end bonus was so good it reminds you of your teenage guitar-god fantasies - but slow down, Slash. Blowing the whole thing on a state-of-the-art home recording studio might not be the most prudent decision. Consider putting at least half of that bonus into savings. Use it to jump-start your annual retirement plan contributions or fortify your general finances. Sure, blow some of your bonus on a pilgrimage to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but putting part of it into a retirement plan will be much appreciated by your future rock-star self.
Do I need travel insurance? I hope the rollout of vaccines has more people asking this question later this year. I've stripped out the nuance and boiled it down to two questions. Where #retirement planning and people who love to #travel meet

I take a swing at one of the most common questions in personal finance, and then put my own travel spin on it - How much do you need to retire?
Just a short video I took at Cemetary Hill in Gettysburg - the most haunted place in America. Happy Halloween!
