Pediatric Ophthalmology 13.02.2022

Hello friends and families of Pediatric Ophthalmology! As we reach the one year mark from when COVID temporarily closed our offices, we would like to take the time to thank you for all of your support over the past year. In May of 2020, we resumed eye health examinations in a safe manner to protect our patients from this health crisis. While many safety precautions are currently still in place at our offices, it has never been easier to be examined. If you have no known exposure, and are not experiencing symptoms of illness; just wear a mask and come on in! We are scheduling fewer appointments each day to provide our team with ample time for disinfecting, and we work hard to keep your wait time as short as possible. Call today to schedule a summer appointment, and we look forward to seeing you soon! www.eyemdsforkids.com

Due to new guidelines set forth by the CDC and supported by the AAO, we will only be examining patients with emergencies or whom require urgent care until further notice. We apologize if your routine eye exam has been rescheduled until a later point in time as a result. Thank you for understanding, as we act to do our part in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. If you feel that you have an urgent eyecare need, our phones will continue to answer 24/7, so please continue... to call 724-772-3388. To schedule a routine exam for May or thereafter, please call us Monday thru Friday between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm. Scheduled appointments may still be subject to change, and we will do our best to notify our patients and families of changes. If you would like to schedule a telemedicine visit, this is now available. Please call are office for further information and scheduling. The doctor will determine if this option will work for your needs. Please be aware such exams do not replace the thoroughness or necessity of in person exams, but have been created to provide continuity during these unique times.

Dear patients, parents, and friends of Pediatric Ophthalmology: For over 45 years, our family has committed to providing the best care to our community. During this challenging time, that commitment will not change. Pediatric Ophthalmology is prioritizing the health and well-being of everyone who visits our offices. At this time, we have intentions to remain open for business as usual. To remain open while also addressing concerns about the spread of the virus, be assured... that we have increased our already strict cleaning routines. We’ve taken several steps over the last week to establish protocols and address concerns about the spread of the virus. The cooperation between our clinic staff and our patients is vital to our ability to remain open and care for as many people as possible. Please be aware that in some cases, we will be asking non-emergency patients to reschedule their appointments. This will occur if a patient or family member in our office appears to be visibly ill, including respiratory conditions such as coughing. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our immunocompromised patients must be a priority. We do still welcome and invite our patients to attend their regularly scheduled appointments. When making plans to visit us, please make an attempt to only bring one additional family member along with the patient. This effort will help reduce the total number of people gathering in our facilities, therefore slowing the spread of COVID-19. Should you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to call us directly at (724)772-3388. Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by the virus. Thank you all for your understanding, and we look forward to caring for you soon! Dr. Paviglianiti Dr. Hughes Dr. Pennock Dr. Wertelet
