While we have a lot of work to do here in PA, our friends and colleagues in Ohio need our help. Please share this action alert with your friends, family and colleagues in Ohio and ask them to help stave off potentially catastrophic changes to their child care system.
"Bradwell is desperate to get back on track professionally, but she’s wary of returning to the same job she held before COVID-19 working in a child care center. The irony is, the industry’s low pay and rigorous time demands make it difficult for its workforce to meet their own child care needs." https://www.usatoday.com//daycare-near-me-chil/7450564002/
We are pleased to share and recognize Gina Pilla with Senator Mario Scavello and PA State Rep. Ann Flood for her milestone anniversary in the ECE field. Gina reports, "In 1991, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree with a minor in Psychology from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. While at Kean, I also earned my Special Education Certificate and took credits toward my Masters Degree. I taught special education for 10 years from 1991 to 2001. From 2001 to 2021, I have bee...n involved in early childhood education and owned Little Buddies Childcare with Preschool in Nazareth. The center is proud to be a Keystone STARS 4 center since 8/20/19. Our center capacity is 65 children and I currently have 15 staff who are employed part-time and full-time. It is extremely important to me that young children get the best foundation in early education to be successful in their future." See more
Even before the pandemic, many families struggled to access quality, affordable care. And federal early childhood programs have reached only a fraction of eligible children and families. About five out of six eligible children do not do not receive benefits, he said. https://www.sharonherald.com//article_c3579763-54a0-516e-a

It seems almost to simple, but talking to your children while you are cooking about what you are cooking IS a discussion on science. (note: this is not about the show/products Little Einsteins.) https://www.wmar2news.com//stat/inspiring-little-einsteins
