Here's a commonly asked question and a tip. Q: Every afternoon I get tired and hungry. What should I do? A: There are a couple things to try:... First, make sure you’re eating enough for breakfast and lunch, and include some protein-rich foods. Protein can help keep you feeling full and satisfied and is less apt to contribute to that midday lull feeling. Second, there is nothing wrong with eating a between-meal snack. Make it a healthy choice that can tide you over until dinner. Planning ahead so you have something on-hand is key here! Think about items like fruit, nuts, or Greek yogurt. Using these strategies over the next week or so when your meal schedule may be thrown off is especially useful and important. Both strategies will help you avoid unnecessary mindless eating and make the yummy stuff even more enjoyable.

My Strong Women's Academy beta group had fantastic results, so it's time to bring this awesome 12-week program to more women. I'm opening up 5 more spots for SW...A starting November 9th. You'll get strong (like real-world-do-daily-life-stuff-without-throwing-out-your-back strong), build confidence, and make age your b*tch WITHOUT: crazy restrictive diets endless soul-crushing workouts or pressure to be perfect If you're serious about ending the cycling of starting and stopping over and over again when it comes to your fitness, message me and I'll give you the details.

Whether you want to change the health of your body, the strength of your body, or anything else about it, there’s one main thing that’s required. It’s not rigid... dieting. It’s not workouts that leave you panting for air. It’s not any crazy supplements or pills. It’s the thing that most people struggle with when it comes to reaching ANY goal not just body-related ones. It’s this un-sexy, not flashy thing calledCONSISTENCY. Yep. Practicing the same behaviors and habits over and over again lead to results for better or for worse. If you consistently eat well all week only to binge on the weekends, you won’t ever see change. If you consistently workout every body, but fail to workout or even move your body the rest of the week, you won't see changes in your strength or stamina. If you consistently eat well, move your body, and indulge moderately, your body and health will start to change for the better. Diets don’t work because they’re nearly impossible to stay consistent with just like hardcore killer workout plans. You’ve got to be willing to find a plan for you that you can remain consistent with. That’s the path to results. Based on your past experiences, does this make sense? Let me know. P.S. If you’ve struggled with consistency and you know it’s time to take some committed action, message me about my next 12-week Strong Women's Academy group. I'll not only give you the tools to make you physically stronger, but also the support and knowledge you need in order to become consistent with fitness so you never have to start over again.

"I felt intimidated by lifting weights" "I've gone to gyms but no one ever took the time to teach me that there were options with strength and exercise. "I had... no idea how many variations of these exercises you can do based on your ability level." "Seriously, why has no one ever told us you can work up to a plank push up in three phases?" "If I had known all this, I would have been doing these exercises long ago." When gyms were shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, people logically looked for alternatives to stay (or get) fit and maintain (or gain) strength. And in group after group when the question was asked, "Go to YouTube; there's tons of free boot camp and yoga videos there". or "You don't need a gym or a trainer to workout. Just go for a run and do some push-ups." was the answer. Here's the problem with that advice YouTube videos and other random acts of fitness aren't going to get you strong or capable or build longevity. A random boot camp or yoga workout that you find on YouTube, is just that: random. There's no consideration for you goals. There's no one checking your form or giving you ideas on how to modify exercises. There's no one telling you how to work up to doing a "plank push-up in three phases". There's no one telling you how to progress your workouts when they become stale and less challenging. Instead, you do the random workout, or better yet, *watch* the random workout without actually doing it (you know you've done it), never see progress (because random), lose motivation, and quit. And this issue doesn't just exist on YouTube, it exists in gyms as well and among trainers whose only goal is to impress the client by "killing" them. Instead of random, look for a program that does three things: 1 Gives you options (modifications and/or alternates) for exercises that you can't (currently) do because of injury history, pre-existing conditions, or lack of experience. 2 Teaches you how to progress exercises so that you'll get incrementally stronger. 3 Isn't a random collection of exercises and movements, but a well-thought out plan. Do this, and you'll go from those first five statements to these five: "I'm not intimidated by lifting weights anymore." "I never did strength exercise before and now I feel like I know how to exercise." "During the program I never felt like 'OMG, I could never do that'" "Certain exercises felt intimidating, but I knew I’d eventually get them because of the modifications and progressions." "I'm discovering new feats of strength every day." If you're ready to go from doing random acts of fitness to doing fitness in a way that will make you stronger so that you do EVERYTHING in life better let me know.

Variety in exercise is great, but if you truly want to see progress, mastering a few basic strength moves is where it’s at. If I had to narrow it down to just s...ix movements that will target your full body while making you seriously and progressively stronger, they would be the ones I’m sharing in my newest info-graphic. It’s not about anything like muscle confusion or random workouts. Those things only get you so far, and muscle confusion isn’t even a thing. More isn’t necessarily better, but these will show you what is. Check them out and let me know your thoughts and questions! https://www.performancefitnessllc.com/6-essential-lifts/ PS - If you want to know how to use these movements in your own program to help you build strength and longevity, join me at tonight at 6pm for my webinar: 5 Ways to a Strong and Unconditionally Confident You.
