Halloween Tours are just two weeks away! This special Quo Vadis event is not only an excellent chance to learn about some of the Nationality Rooms, but it's also an opportunity to support our guides-in-training, who will be presenting their first rooms. We are so proud of them and excited to hear them tell spooky stories in their respective Nationality Rooms! All are welcome, and we can't wait to see you there

In memory of E. Maxine Bruhns, director of the Nationality Rooms, who passed away Friday night: Maxine was a force to be reckoned with. She put her heart and soul into the twelve Nationality Rooms dedicated while she was director, and she worked tirelessly to shape Quo Vadis into the organization it is today. She was a vibrant part of the Nationality Rooms program and a beacon of curiosity and unity for all of us. In her mission to promote cross-cultural understanding between... students, she never stopped trying to learn about new cultures, especially the cultures and heritages of the Quo Vadis guides who will continue to further her mission and vision for the Nationality Rooms. Stories and memories of Maxine are scattered throughout training for new Quo Vadis guidesshe leaves such a deep legacy behind. When we reflect on our impressions of Maxine, we smile to think about her whimsically bright monochrome outfits, as well as her love of lemurs. One memory we cherish is the way Maxine would sit in the Early American Room every Halloween, in the hope that she might get to interact with resident ghost, Maxine's grandmother Martha. She loved having Quo Vadis help her with her ghost watch, and we will fondly continue this tradition. Maxine was one of the biggest voices in support of guides wearing traditional outfits during tours of the Nationality Rooms, such as at Open House. She strongly supported Quo Vadis leading processions at the dedications of new rooms, and in speaking about the rooms wherever possible. She has always pushed Quo Vadis forward and inspired us all to grow as a club, and as individuals. We will all miss Maxine greatly, and remember her fondly.
