We are very proud of our Russian program students, who did not only survive the pandemic, but have also managed to participate in national language competitions and other extracurricular activities and events during the 2020-2021 academic year. Today, they had an opportunity to receive their award and participation diplomas in person on campus. Russian chocolate has sweetened the experience:) Молодцы!

Every year on November 9, Ukraine celebrates Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. The holiday was established to honor the memory of St. Nestor the Chronicler, the Old-Ukrainian writer, hagiographer and chronicler, the author of the Primary Chronicle. Since 2000, the All-Ukrainian radio dictation of national unity is traditionally held on this day, its purpose is to unite all those who care around the Ukrainian word and to promote our native language. A language plays an im...portant role in the consolidation and self-identity of society, it is one of the main achievements of every nation’s culture, as it reflects its historical path. The Ukrainian language stands out among other languages thanks to its melodiousness. Its sources date back to very old times. Ivan Kotlyarevsky is considered to be the founder of the modern Ukrainian literary language, but it is Taras Shevchenko who made the most significant contribution to the formation of the single linguistic and stylistic system of the Ukrainian language and who raised it to the national level. Today, the Ukrainian language is native for more than 40 million people living in Ukraine and abroad, and it is one of the most widespread Slavic languages. See more
