I was told today that I am the inspiration for this poem. Keith was a homeless man that would walk by my store (had to be over three years ago) and said I always greeted him with a hello and a smile. He told me it made his day that a total stranger could show compassion. Keith said I was the inspiration for this poem and he was sorry it took him so long to get it to me. As we both welled up I so wanted to give him a hug. Damn you Covid!!! I am happy to say he is no longer hom...eless and happily a poet that has read his poems on tv shows and more.
