Honeybee bug bingo and bug counting game, shapes ant craft, pizza party, and outside bubble fun
This week the themes in the Owl class were butterflies and flowers. We learned about the process of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly and got to watch a butterfly release! We also talked about the different parts of a plant and planted our own flowers. The garden sensory bins were also a huge hit!
The Fish class learned through stories this week. They searched for colors during a scavenger hunt, made it rain from a cloud in a jar, cleaned up colored spaghetti that took over their "town", created letters out of yarn and learned rhyming words. They even had the opportunity to see the release of butterflies from the Frog class.
The butterflies finally emerged from their chrysalides and we released them this week. What a fun experience for the children! The Frog Class also talked about what clouds look like and bugs this week.
For Honeybee Class beach and sea day, we played with kinetic sand and went fishing for our name letters with our magnetic ABC fishing game
Letter R and Dental Health this week in the Frog Class. We enjoyed the warm weather on Wednesday and played outside.
The Honeybee Class had a blast with penguins and our five senses this week. We were busy with ice sensory play, a penguin craft, activities that highlighted our hearing (musical instruments), sight (cameras with animal pictures inside), smell (cotton balls sprayed with citrus scent), taste (Smarties and candy hearts) and touch (goop that clumped when gripped & then turned back into liquid). Finally, we also had a visit from the tooth fairy!
This week the our class began talking about dental health. We practiced how to use a toothbrush by painting egg carton teeth and the inside of our mouths. We also played a fun version of bingo where the children brushed specific letters off teeth. They learned a new game called roll and cover and we opened a new listening center of books on CD.
The Frog Class enjoyed letter Q and #15 activities, parachute play and gross motor time this week.
Snow much fun:)
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Frog Class!
Hot chocolate day in the Honeybee class! We made frozen hot chocolate, a cookies and hot chocolate craft, and drank hot (warm) chocolate with a cookie snack
The Honeybee class made gingerbread and had fun with Christmas cookie cutters and gingerbread play dough
Thank you, for sharing your children with us. They are the greatest blessing of all. -Mrs. Taylor and the entire Playful Beginings Staff
