Excited to pick up some heritage breed stamps at the post office today! The Livestock Conservancy worked with the post office on this project to raise awareness about endangered farm animals. Out of over 150 breeds, 10 were selected. We were excited to see Cayuga ducks and Narragansett turkeys were selected since we raise both of them here!

Hatching season is finally in full swing here! Available right now-Gold Laced Polish. Hatched so well we are offering 2 free if you take 5 home. We have some just-hatched Delawares and some older birds ready to go off heat. Delawares are an excellent heritage meat bird as well as being great layers of large brown eggs. Limited number of Black Copper Maran, Barred Rock and Pastel Eggers. The Pastels are Easter Egger hens x Gold Laced Polish rooster and are hatching in a bunch of fun colors, most have muffs and beards. We also have a few Khaki Campbell ducklings available this weekend as well. All birds are straight run/unsexed and must be picked up at the farm. PM for more details.

Alice, Three Spot, Amos and, well, pretty much all the sheep are snug in the sheep house waiting for the snow to pass.

Our quince bushes are sending up new shoots, so we've added them to our perennial plant offerings! This is the last week to place an order, but you can pick up your plants by appointment any time this month. Perennials are an easy way to beautify your home or camp so be sure to check out the whole collection on our website. These are available by online order only, we will not have any extras later in the season so don't miss out!

Busy getting gifts out right now. Fire poker and other gift orders are drying in the paint department. Greenhouse space that typically goes unused this time of year does double duty! The passive solar heat is great for helping the finish to dry so we can get them in the mail as soon as possible. Blacksmithing and more available on our website forgeatpleasantvalley.com

We are so excited that Emily's sister Laurel began her own farming journey this year! The microgreens they grow are amazing and these grow at home kits are great for presents or for having something fresh and green in your own kitchen.

Looking for a last minute gift? I've been putting together natural body care sets like this one! Our Pamper Him gift set has an aromatherapy hot/cold pack, lip balm, hand cream and beard oil. Our Pamper Her set switches out the beard oil for massage oil. You can customize the scents, and from now until Christmas we will replace the clear cellophane with festive gift wrap at no extra charge! We are also happy to put together custom sets on request, and all our items ship free anywhere in the US! Forgeatpleasantvalley.com/collections/natural-body-care

The Buckeye babies are no longer chicks! At about 2 months old, we're enjoying seeing their beautiful reddish brown feathers now that they've lost their baby fluff. They are gorgeous, active birds who wouldn't slow down long enough for the perfect picture so this will have to do. We'll be keeping them in indoor pens this winter as they grow, and are looking forward to our first Buckeye eggs sometime next spring!

Amos isn't afraid of a little snow if there's a chance I have treats in my pocket!
