Lets be real. Sometimes our work is less than glamorous. Many days we are working in old basements, dusty attics or garages filled to the brim with stuff. Today was a breath of fresh air. We helped our client pack for a huge life transition moving to a continuing care facility. As we weeded through her belongings, she shared many stories with us. All the happy memories that she had in the home she and her husband built many years ago. When they first moved in, the road leadin...g to their driveway was a dirt road and they didn't have phone, internet or cable for many years! Some of her best memories were packing PB&J sandwiches and having a picnic behind their house at the creek. She also shared the less pleasant times, like loosing her husband suddenly this past summer. As she cried her way through this memory, I was reminded about what a gift this job is. Our physical labor is only a part of what we do.
