I would like to thank Tilbury Station, for saving at least two homes and possibly many more on Tilbury Terrace! The fires started down below our homes on the si...de of the mountain and within just a few minutes raced up to the top just feet from our homes. Not only once but for 2 straight days, starting on Friday, over and over these flames reared and continued! At one point it was my husband and Barry Lore with hoses fighting it back from our home. There were several other men and women from Tilbury Station pulling out their equipment and fighting the fires both from the top and the bottom of the mountain. Tilbury had the right equipment and man power to help during this very tough situation!! Later on Saturday there were finally 4 Fire companies here along with the PA Forestry service and about 30-40 people who worked continuously throughout the day and also Sunday, raking and putting out multiple hot spots!! We are so grateful for everyone’s efforts and can’t thank everyone enough!! We need our local Fire Company back as they know how to take care of this area and show up for this town!!! This is a fight that will continue to be a worthwhile issue!!! See more
