As many of you know, we’ve been in Florida all week for the speedweeks. And while it’s been fun, we’ve been hard at work wrapping up the final offseason touches as we head into 2021. Yesterday during the RPM At Daytona Workshop, we were proud to accept the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Award for Region 1 on behalf of Steve O’Neal and the Port Royal Speedway. This award is voted on by promoters from all over the country in both dirt and asphalt and we are extremely proud, ...humbled and grateful to bring home this award to Central Pennsylvania. While the award says Steve O’Neal, we know this is a team effort and we have the best folks working tirelessly to make the Speed Palace a success. It’s also a testament to our fans, drivers and sponsors who support us and allowed us to not only succeed, but flourish during and otherwise tough season! Thank you and see in less than 30 days!!

Did you know..... Since 2013, the River Valley Builders Super Late Models have been a part of the Opening Day card at Port Royal Speedway! Two drivers in the division have had 2 triumphs on Opening Day. That being last years track champion Andy Haus Motorsports and Jason Covert!... (Jan. 12, 2021) Port Royal Speedway is proud to welcome Georges Used Cars Inc. as the official hard charger sponsor of the River Valley Builders super late model division for the 2021 racing season. ... Excluding the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models visits, the River Valley Builders Super Late Models will take to the Speed Palace a total of 16 times in 2021. For all 16 of those events, George’s Used Cars Inc. will offer a $200 Hard Charger bonus for the biggest mover of the night. On top of an increased purse of $3000 to win and $300 to start that was announced earlier in the season, this shows the continued dedication of presenting late model racing as a premier division at the Port Royal Speedway now and for years to come. Note- Due to inclement weather and and more expected snowfall, the Port Royal Speedway office will be closed today Feb. 1, 2021. Reminder- All Port Royal Speedway Season Pass, Reserved Seat, Camping and Season Pit Pass Renewals will now have until Feb. 8, 2021 to renew their seats before they become available for the public to purchase. This is an extension of seven days from the previously announced date due to excessive mail service delays. ... All season passes and reserved seating can be purchased in person at the speedway office or over the phone (717) 527-2303 Monday- Friday from 8am to 4pm. Purchases made via credit card will include a 3% surcharge. Thank you!

Did you know....... Only one pair of father and son have both scored victories during the Port Royal Speedway opening day? Steve Smith parked it in victory lane in 1982 on opening day driving a #66 and five years later it was Stevie Smith parking the familiar #19 in victory lane for the 1987 opening day race.... The elder Smith has four career victories at the Speed Palace while Stevie has 13 career victories in Juniata County. Both father and son also have Tuscarora 50 wins to their credit with Steve Smith winning in 1975 and Stevie winning twice in 1988 and 2011. Billy Dietrich Racing and Danny Dietrich are scheduled to be in attendance for our March 7th, 2021 79th Opening Day at 2pm and will both be looking to add their names to the history books along with their father Dan Dietrich, who won opening day in 1988. Freddie Rahmer could also make history as his father, Fred Rahmer, scored the opening day triumph in 1998. Father and son duo, Mike Wagner Motorsports and Logan Wagner Racing, will both be looking for their first opening day triumphs as well! #56Days

From all of us at Port Royal Speedway, we’d like to send a huge thank you and well wishes to our great friend and colleague Steve Swarmer. After 70 years and over 5000 races attended of involvement as a toddler, crewman, owner/driver, and most recently a speedway official, Steve Has made the decision to step back from his official duties at Port Royal. Steve will be taking time to focus on his health and checking items off his bucket list both racing and non-racing related. ... At Port Royal Speedway, we consider our team to be family. Every night we gather after the races for a family style dinner, beers and to just talk racing and life. We know this isn’t goodbye as we’ll see you at the track still for sure. But we know that we wouldn’t have gotten to this point as a track without employees, friends and most importantly family like Steve. Everyone please congratulate Steve on a well respected career dedicated to our sport! We’ll see you soon! Enjoy the retirement!

It’s been wayyy too quiet here lately! As we sit at home on this snowy Central PA day, we throw it back to the late Bryan Clauson Racing grabbing the USAC Racing #EasternStorm victory at the Port Royal Speedway in 2016! Saturday June 19th, 2021 the annual event returns to the Speed Palace with a cool $6000 on the line! The Weikerts Livestock 410 Sprint Cars will also be on hand making this a can’t miss event!

Did You Know...... Seven drivers in the history of Port Royal Speedway won their first and only 410 Sprint car feature at the Speed Palace on Opening Day? Most recently, Lynton Jeffrey picked up the win in 2017 while Skip Jackson scored one driving for Zemco Racing in 2000. ... Kevin Gobrecht finished off a run of three wins at three tracks in 24 hours with his only Port Royal triumph in 1999, while Jeff Swindell drove the Bob Weikert #29 to victory lane for his only victory in Juniata County in 1991. Father of Danny Dietrich and Billy Dietrich, Dan Dietrich scored the opening day triumph in 1988 for his only speedway win and Milt Miller picked up a one off in 1968. Not pictured, Henry Jacoby also picked up his only win at Port Royal on opening day in 1964!! Will we see another first time winner during the 79th annual Opening Day this season?
