With a grant from NKCDC, Linda and Patrick Mencel paid $200,000 for their Fishtown home, built in partnership with Postgreen Homes. The "Awesometown" townhouses are the first residences in Pennsylvania to receive LEED V4 Platinum certification.

Today Fairmount Park Conservancy started construction on the first phase of its Centennial Commons project, which is designed to create a more welcoming public ...space along Parkside Avenue in West Fairmount Park. The new layout designed by Studio | Bryan Hanes will include innovative play spaces for kids and young people, seating and picnic areas, landscaping, a rain garden, and better access to the park for neighbors and visitors to nearby cultural institutions.
