PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: DROPPING KNOWLEDGE Those that still work for an employer!! Please be aware that when the tax deferral (not taking any taxes for Social Security and fed w/h) kicks in that it’s only a DEFERRAL. So that money they are deferring make sure you put that money to the side. After December 2020 you will see your check go back to normal. However, at some point next year your check will be shorter because the deferral period is over and your employer will ...begin taking that MONEY BACK. So you will have your normal taxes (SS, F W/H, Medicare) will come out PLUS the deferral amount. So in a sense double taxed. They may not take the full amount at one time but expect that smaller check. So when it’s all said and done you will see a smaller check unless you are putting that money to the side. Also unless they change the tax brackets for 2020, you STILL will have a tax liability that you are not expecting because not enough was taken out in 2020. So if you normally owe taxes it’s going to be higher. You definitely don’t have to listen to me but warning comes before destruction!
