We want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who helped us to remove litter from some of main thoroughfares today. I failed to get any group pics this month, so here is a candid snap of a couple of our intrepid litter getters.

It was a lovely spring day for a clean-up. Several neighbors (unfortunately we only got a pic of some of them) of all ages and abilities came out and got a whole slew of trash from the Seldom Seen entrance at Vanucci Field. It is this kind of community activity that has lead to a marked decrease in the amount of litter that we see in our neighborhood. We hope that everyone keeps up the good work! Thank you all for your efforts!!!

We had a huge turnout for our clean-up today! 21 folks came together to remove litter that had been hiding under the winter snow. We were able to remove about 20 bags of trash and two televisions from our sidewalks. Thanks to everyone who showed up to help! We can't wait to see everyone next month.

When neighbors come together (socially distanced, of course) great things can happen! Beechview did a very respectable job in the 2020 Garbage Olympics. We will know how well we did against the 37 other Pittsburgh neighborhoods later this afternoon.

As Covid has stolen our group clean-ups and we have gone virtual for almost the entirety of our 2020 season, we continue to be grateful for our neighbors. We see the care you all are taking in helping Beechview be cleaner and greener and it is appreciated. As we begin to close out the year, we encourage you to be mindful of your surroundings and do your part to make things better throughout the year. We also want you to consider volunteering for the 2020 Garbage Olympics on Sept. 26. We are fielding a Beechview team again and can't wait to tackle some trash. Today, the Jardín de Unidad got some attention and we heard of another family that went out and spruced things up by getting litter from our public right of ways. Thank you all! <3
