This is Murray, he was found as a stray wandering through one of south Lancaster City’s neighborhoods and brought to us by local police. His drooping lips and concerned expression broke our hearts. We were certain someone had to be looking for this gentle dog. With his soulful glance and ‘I dare you not to smile’ wiggle, we thought he’d be reclaimed instantly. However, as the days passed and his lost dog post almost broke our Facebook page, no owner ever came forward. With ...his goofy ears in tow, this mini pittie quickly became a shelter favorite, and before we knew it Murray had a long list of interested adopters. We are happy to share that Murray is a sad fella no more, and while his face still droops, his heart sings as he settles in with his new forever family and doggo big sister, who all vow to love him the rest of his days. It’s National Cat Day and Cow Cow the calico would like to say ‘hello’. This little angel came in extremely nervous and timid. We used products like cat calming spray, a ‘hide’ bed, scratch pad, and catnip combined with lots of TLC to help her purrsonality really start to blossom. All those products were donated by our amazing followers like you who has purchased things from our wishlist. So on behalf of Cow Cow we would like to extend our deepest thanks. The holiday season will be here before we know it and we are gearing up to make the holidays merry and bright for pets in need. Help us spread the joys of the season and donate to the Santa Claws & Paws program. We welcome community members to bring any pet food, toys, flea treatment, fleece blankets and beds, gift cards, or any other pet care items to the shelter today through Friday, December 18, 2020.... Those items will then be magically crafted by animal-loving elves into pet holiday care packages for local veterans and families in need throughout our community.

We are thrilled to announce we will be partnering up with Morr Indoor Range and Training Center for the month of November. They will be hosting a donation drive for us that can be dropped off at their store. We will also be sharing a 'Pet of the Week' every week with them all month long. Our first featured pet, Uma, had this to say about herself ,"Hey it's me, energetic Uma, looking for a human family to call my own. I am SO excited to be the very first Pet of the Week featu...red at Morr Range because I've been at the shelter quite a while. I love to go on adventures, like hiking and walks, and even know to be prepared by bringing a toy with me. I'm a friend that is ready for almost anything and just happy to spend time with you whether it be going to a jog or lounging on the couch. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is cats, I don't do hairballs. I would also do best in a home with teenagers and older. What do ya say? Happy Gotcha Day Frankenstein! This great pupper was adopted over the weekend by a veteran. We are happy to participate in the No Dog Left Behind initiative which helps cover a portion of adoption fees for active military and veterans. It is with this spirit of gratitude, a generous community sponsor has offered to cover all adoption fees for veterans this Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020. All interested veterans must go through the same diligent adoption screenin...g process as a regular interested adopter, however, once approved the adoption fee for the dog or cat of their dreams will be waived. Hi my name is Murray and I have resting sad face. You may remember me from my stray post that 'broke the internet' and tugged at heart strings everywhere. I am now available for adoption and looking for a new home. While I'm here at the shelter I love doing enrichment activities my friends here give us.
