Love it or hate it, running is good for the soul. This was evident by the overwhelming number of team members who participated in our annual Ivy virtual 5k. Colleagues from all over the country trained, ran, and then took a selfie so we could all give them a virtual pat on the back and share in their joy. These are just a few of the many photos we received from teammates - we wish we could share them all! Congratulations to each and every person who participated this year. Some were seasoned athletes while others were first time racers. At the end of the day, we're so proud of you all! #oneivy

Roger Avecillas comes from an Ecuadorian background, where serving others was instilled at a young age. Through our HS Outreach Program he met Asmaa, a student who was sidelined with a wrestling injury that left her researching rehab methods to aid in healing - but on her own, she could only get so far. Even though these two come from very different backgrounds, they were both accepting when the right doors were open for them. You see, sometimes in life we’re given rare opportunities but our fate is often determined by our level of recognition and what we choose to do with those special moments. For Roger and Asmaa, this is where the story begins. https://www.ivyrehab.com//in-a-community-where-everyone-b/

Hands are a vital part of our lives - allowing us to touch loved ones, write letters, and open doors. As we recognize Hand Therapy Week, we're reminded of our time spent building prosthetic hands with Hands of Gratitude. We were so touched to hear the stories of individuals whose lives would change for the better once they received a prosthetic hand that we had helped build. To all of our hand therapists, thank you for your commitment to our field and for the work you do for others. This week, we celebrate you. https://www.ivyrehab.com//ivy-rehab-partners-with-hands-o/

Thankful for something not so bad that could have been worse. Our Montgomeryville location took on some outside damage to the facade; fortunately no inside damage; even more fortunately no one injured. Open for full operations on Wed, Dec 2nd.

In a head-spinning year, what hasn't changed is our commitment as a Physical Therapist to doing whatever it takes to help our patients achieve a better life. Our team of industry best thinkers has worked hard over the years to earn the privilege to see you without a referral. Studies have shown seeing a PT first saves money (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25772625/) and is safe (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26342614/).... When needed, we rely on our network of trusted and best medical providers (built over the past 19 years) to refer you to when necessary. If you feel like we earned a mention, go ahead and mention us to a friend or family in need. Our purpose in this world is to find a way to help, with or without a prescription. #betteryou #betterliving #physicaltherapy #moveforward

Time and Pain Joint pain just happens, many are unsure of what day or what year it started. Busy in life, with kids, in work, or in the community, there is no... time carved out to give joint pain some attention. You plow through it, never seeking a solution to end it. For many, plowing through it led to creeping joint pain, slowly over a period of years limiting function and loss of efficiencies (quality of life). The pain increases a little more each year. If the consequence of creeping pain is the loss of efficiencies in our function, then the reward of carving time to work on your body is a more effective and pain-free lifestyle. When you do schedule the time, the trade-off is a higher quality of daily functional performance to do more. Take time tomorrow, this week, even next week, to schedule some time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. There is no limitation in scheduling, there is no requirement for a prescription. When you get some guidance on how to work on your body, the rewards will surprise you.
