Daniel tries a new food! (exploring fruits and vegetables): Talk about your favorite foods together including favorite vegetables and fruit. Ask your child where they think vegetables and fruit come from and talk about how plants and trees grow food we eat. Either at the produce section of a food store or at home, invite your child to describe how some of the fruits and vegetables look, smell and feel. Then, together make a healthy snack with a favorite vegetable or fruit!

How birds use feathers: With your child, try to observe the birds that live in your area and talk about their different characteristics. How large or small are they? What color are their feathers? Then try to make a feather(s) together by having your child color a piece of paper or coffee filter (spray lightly with water and let dry) and cutting it out in the shape of a feather. Your child can play with the feathers or you can glue them onto an outline of a bird drawn on a piece of paper or cardboard.
