Summer is upon us once again. It’s a time for vacations, travel and family outings. Even as these events take us away from our Sunday Worship Services, it’s important that we remember the expenses of the church and those we support through the Benevolence Fund and understand that they continue whether we take a break or not. Please keep your support for the church in both your summer budget and prayers. Donations can always be mailed to the church office at: 399 Main Street Rimersburg, PA 16248 Please note on your check whether it is for the Current Fund or Benevolence Fund

For the first time since March 2020, we will be having communion at our altar this Sunday, July 4th.! If you are not comfortable at the altar, personal communion elements are still available so you can take communion in your seat.

ATTENTION: All COVID restrictions have been removed for all activities and services at our church! The only permanent change we are making is that offering plates will still not be passed only because it saves time during the service. Thanks to everyone for hanging in there with us!

Due to technical difficulties the sermon for June 27th was not recorded.

The Flock Sunday School Class is continuing to meet in the dining hall at the front tables. We social distance and use face masks meeting each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Members of the class take turns leading in the lessons. At the present time we are using a Bible Study on Hebrews by Max Lucado. Everyone is welcome to join us. There is room for more. Come join in studying God’s Word and let’s grow together in Christ.

Following the Mission Emphasis this fall, our Faith Promise for 2020-2021 is $13,100. There is still time to fill out a Faith Promise Card and turn into the office before the end of this year. We appreciate everyone who participated in last year’s Faith Promise and those who will continue on through 2021 helping support missionaries and local missions.

From the pastor’s desk Change is in the air can you feel it? The days are already starting to get longer. Not that there are any more hours in a day, but more daylight. At this writing, it looks as though we will be inaugurating a new president of the United States on January 20th. That will also bring numerous changes into our lives. The DVD, I Still Believe, by the creators of, I Can Only Imagine, has been donated to the church library. I Still Believe is based on a true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp. The inspiring story follows Jeremy’s search for his artistic voice, as well as the love of his life. But Jeremy’s hope and faith are put to the test when tragedy strikes. I Still Believe is an incredible story of musical stardom, the heights of love, the depths of loss, and the healing power of the human spirit. The movie stars KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain and Gary Sinise. The movie is rated PG. Take time to watch a DVD from the church library this year or next as we stay at home from the virus.

The Flock Sunday School Class will begin studying Hebrews in a Bible Study Book by Max Lucado beginning November 1. The study is based on 12 weeks of lessons. Anyone in the church is welcome to attend our Sunday School Discussion. We take turns leading the class but we have lots of group discussion and time for prayer needs and sharing. The Flock is located in the Fellowship Hall and begins at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

We will be celebrating Holy Communion on Sunday, November 1st. It will also be All Saints Sunday. Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:30 pm. Tim Bell will be with us on Sunday, November 8th. Church Council Meeting on Monday, November 16th at 6:30 pm. ... The November Share-A-Care is Wednesday the 18th at 5:00 pm.
