Behold this little Bane - The Boon of all alive - As common as it is unknown The name of it is Love -... To lack of it is Woe - To own of it is Wound - Not elsewhere - if in Paradise It’s Tantamount be found -

This is Bombus perplexus. This is my favorite bee in my garden and I haven't seen one for a while. This morning I was poking around out front and there on the sidewalk by the road was a stunned one of these guys. I got it to crawl on me and offered it a few flowers but it wanted to stay with me. It left little yellow pollen trails on me as it wound from fingertip to palm to arm and back of hand. Then it got settled, cleaned itself, and calmly relaxed.... On my left wrist. I got it some honey but it wasn't interested. So we just sat together enjoying one another's company while the wind blew. These bees are gorgeous and fill me with unending joy when I see them working in my flowers. They are SUPER FUZZY! Eventually it got up and decided to go somewhere else so I let it crawl on a milkweed and watched as it dropped to the ground and went under a chunk of sidewalk. These ethereal moments are why I garden. God gives moments like these sometimes just when they are needed most. It's a touch of the divine and holy. There's no describing how it feels to share a moment with a resting bumblee. That crossing of lives and purposes for that slim time frame? Well it inspired this: Fuzzy Eternity A moment on my wrist? Ok, if You insist! Let's share a rest together-- To enjoy this perfect weather. A respite from our work, Our duties we will shirk- A moment--our paths-- to cross, Not a second to be lost-- No, found. Eternity is built like this, Of junctures fast we mostly miss. --by Season Ciechanowski

Goldfinches in the garden this morning...I used to need feeders to bring them but now my native plants do the job.

Even this late it happens: the coming of love, the coming of light. You wake and the candles are lit as if by themselves, stars gather, dreams pour into your ...pillows, sending up warm bouquets of air. Mark Strand
