Ab-strengthening exercises Toe Touch Lie on your back on the floor, raising your arms and legs to a 90-degree angle. Lift your head and shoulder blades off the floor as you reach your fingers toward your toes. Pull your abs to your spine as you lift your pelvis an inch off the ground, bringing your toes toward your fingers. This is a small, concentrated movement. Then lower your pelvis to complete the rep.... Complete 20 reps. See more

Recently, I was asked about whether or not drinking cold or warm water is better for you! There’s been a raging debate for years over what temperature is right for optimal health! Ultimately, drinking either cold or warm water is good for you and beneficial for your health. The most important thing is to drink ENOUGH water. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommends the average healthy adult daily intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids... for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids for women. Keep in mind every individual is DIFFERENT. Some of us may need more liquids than others, especially those who are athletic or taking on physical labor on a daily basis. See some benefits of drinking both below! COLD: -can improve metabolism, especially on an empty stomach. An improved metabolic rate means an improved digestive system, helping your system digest at a faster rate - you can burn up to an extra 70 calories per day (as much as you could walking 15 min) -helps regulate body temperature -when exercising makes for a great post-workout drink -effectively combats heat stroke during hot summer months -eases pain -can boost immune system -can help you stay alert and awake -can also make hair shine HOT: -maintains hydration, helping you feel less thirsty; down side to be aware of is not drinking enough water -breaks food down easier, aiding in digestion- helping with constipation -improves central nervous system -improves circulation -can help decrease stress levels -relieves nasal congestion, a cup of hot water creates steam Hope you find this information helpful!

The whole point of pursuing anything you feel called to do is... to bring happiness and joy into your own life, in turn that will help others along the way. Even when the movers and the shakers of the world are creating vast oceans of healing, and you can only offer a droplet of water, you’re still a healer. My entire life all I have ever wanted was to " fit in", to be liked, and to feel accepted! I know what it is like to be made fun of and teased, to never feel good enough, to be too skinny,( yes! That's a thing), to be judged for being a young mom and then an old mom. I stuttered, I walked on my toes and not flat-footed, I was the last kid to get picked for gym class...I wasn't the popular, pretty girl in high school. But what I did have, was self-confidence! My dad instil...led that in me from a young age. When I first began teaching Pilates, I knew that I wanted everyone to feel beautiful and strong! I wanted them to see what I saw in them just for walking through that door! It takes courage! REdefined Pilates isn't just about strengthening your core, toning your legs, or helping your spine become more flexible; it's about community and a true connection! We have laughed together, we cried together, we take time to listen to each other, and we even get together to go eat. It's a true feeling of acceptance and belonging! If you have been nervous to try a class, I encourage you to message me and drop in for a class! Pilates is truly for every BODY, and REdefined Pilates welcomes you exactly where you are!

In every class we warm up with a balance challenge and hip opener. You can use weights with this, a Pilates Ring, soup cans, wine bottles And if you need to modify, place your hand on a wall or the back of a chair.
I never imagined I would be teaching Pilates! A friend of mine told me a few years ago that it was my passion and he thought I would be a great teacher! Not sure about that.... but... I teach because I know what it is like to feel as if you are not good enough. I teach because I want everyone to be the healthiest and best version of themselves. I teach because I know what it feels like to be lonely when all we want is to be accepted! I teach because I know that when our mind tells us to stop, our bodies are capable of so much more!
