This morning at approximately 2:30 am MTVFC was dispatched to Joanne Drive for a chimney fire. D57 (R. Hunsicker) arrived and confirmed a working chimney fire.... Crews remained on scene for approximately 4 hours to extinguish the stubborn fire. You should have your chimney swept at least once a year as a bare minimum. This ensures your chimney is kept as clean as possible and prevents buildup that will become harder to remove if you leave it. You should always contact a reputable chimney sweep to be sure you’re getting the best advice and service. The National Association of Chimney Sweeps is a reliable source of chimney sweeps.

SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS DEATH SENTENCE OF COP KILLER The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, again upheld the death sentence of Robert An...thony Flor, convicted of killing Newtown Borough Police Officer Brian Gregg in 2005. On Sept. 29. 2005, Flor was taken into custody for suspected drunk driving and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for blood-alcohol testing. There, Flor took a police officer’s weapon and started firing, killing Gregg, and wounding officer James Warunek and hospital employee Joseph Epp. Gregg was 46 years old and had been a full-time officer for the borough for nearly a year after previously working there as a part-time officer. Flor pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and nolo contendre to 39 other counts, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and robbery. A jury unanimously voted to impose the death penalty in 2006 for the first-degree murder of Officer Gregg. That sentence was affirmed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2010. Flor then filed a petition under the Post Conviction Relief Act. His primary claim was that he is intellectually disabled and therefore legally ineligible for the death penalty. After numerous hearings over the course of several years, Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alan M. Rubenstein rejected Flor’s claim of intellectual disability and denied his petition in 2018. Flor, 54, appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and yesterday, a majority of the Court affirmed Judge Rubenstein’s decision and agreed that Flor was not intellectually disabled. "Robert Flor was convicted of killing police officer Brian Gregg, shooting police officer James Warunek, and shooting hospital employee Joseph Epp in 2006 and has been trying to get off of death row ever since," District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. "All he offers are excuses. We will meet him at every attempt he makes to evade his death sentence, which he earned." https://crimewatch.net/node/161540

Jason Albert Kutt, 18, of Sellersville, had been sitting with his girlfriend at the edge of the lake, waiting for the sun to set, when he was shot once in the back of the head, around 5:15 p.m., Weintraub said at a news conference Monday. Kutt was pronounced dead early Monday. The shooting happened near the Old Ridge Road access to the state park, across from the marina at Lake Nockamixon. Kutt's girlfriend (name withheld due to minor status and privacy concerns) told authorities she saw a man in an orange vest, which she described as hunting clothing, standing behind a yellow gate at Old Ridge Road, looking in their direction. The investigation found that the distance from that gate to where Kutt and his girlfriend were sitting was 550 feet away, Weintraub said. Pennsylvania State Game Wardens and State Park Rangers who were patrolling the park quickly responded to the area and found Kutt with a gunshot injury. The girlfriend and emergency crews performed first aid on Kutt before he was taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem where he was pronounced brain dead. Police from throughout Upper Bucks County, including a K9 and a State Police helicopter searched the area and did not locate any persons of interest. At Monday's news conference, Weintraub called for the public's help in trying to find out who fired the shot that killed Kutt. News Conference Live Video https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1588744644643317&id=127100157460499&sfnsn=mo "We want to get to the bottom of this," he said. "We don't have any suspects. We don't even know if a crime has been committed yet. But we need to understand how Jason Kutt died and we need your help to do that." Weintraub said hunting was allowed at the state park the day Kutt was shot. "We need to understand what the shooter's intent was, whether there was actually any criminal mental state, he said. Things can happen on purpose, they can happen knowingly, they can happen recklessly, they can happen through gross negligence or purely by accident, and we have no way of knowing other than making educated guesses at this point and that's not sufficient. "Jason Kutt is entitled to more than that." Weintraub commended the Pennsylvania State Police, the Bedminster Township Police Department, Tinicum Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Bucks County Special Operations Dive Team, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and National Resources and Bucks County Detectives. Anyone with any information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Bucks County Detectives at 215-348-6868 or 215-340-8140, or they can send a tip at https://bucks.crimewatchpa.com/da/submit-tip. The Bedminster Township Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police and Detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the case.
