Remember When Sewing

Sharing for my sewing customers who may share with others who might be interested.

Santa was supposed to get his suit before Christmas, but things kept that from happening... He's all set for 2021! Also shown being Covid safe! Suit is made of red wool, lined with polyester satin, fur is cream color. Zipper front with Velcro closure, pockets for hidden goodies for girls and boys, pants are elastic waist. The commercial sewing pattern was altered for custom fit.

A customer is requesting a custom made christening gown. I may use this pattern as a starting point for her specific design request.

This post is not related to sewing but may be appropriate for some of my sewing related friends. My longtime friend, Rea, has begun a YouTube series to encourage and support caregivers. She was caregiver for her mother for MANY years and is drawing on her experience and passion to help other caregivers live through the daily challenges of this task. I am still at home sewing. I expect to be back at Sunny Cupboard soon. In the meantime, if your items do not need a fitting you may take them to Sunny Cupboard for me to pick up there. The Staff at Sunny Cupboard will have you fill out a claim tag with your name, phone number and instructions. You will get a receipt for the items you leave. Remember When Sewing is making face masks. Two styles, one fits over the ears and is S,M,L. The difference is the length of the elastic. The second is totally adjustable, going around the neck and back of the head. This second style fits the face better with less gaping. has a pocket to insert a filter or other fabric, and a removable metal piece over the nose to shape . Will be putting onto Etsy later today. I have a few made now and will make more. Colors will vary. Prices are $9.00 for the over the ears, and $14.00 for behind the head.

An update... I am still sewing at my home. If you have given me sewing to do, it will be done. You may have to come to my house to pick it up, but it will get done. I will not be a Sunny Cupboard for the next few weeks, until things settle down.

Remember When Sewing is now at Sunny Cupboard on Fridays and Saturdays. Usually 10 am to 4 pm. Hours may increase after I get everything home from Orwigsburg. Still taking in sewing at my home but I have to know you are coming. At sunny Cupboard, you can just walk in.

This customer has a beautiful dress too tight to get the zipper anywhere near closing. Solution, - fortunately it needed to be hemmed. Used 6" of cut off hem from outer embroidered fabric and from inner lining to make inserts for side seams. Not an easy fix but doable. Skirt had to be removed at waist and gathers opened out to give extra inches.
