#TeamRemingtonLighting spotlight this week is on Kim Faith of Fashion and Function, an Independent manufacturer’s representative firm based in Minneapolis, MN. She provides high quality lighting, carpet, fabric and furniture for hospitality, multi-family and senior living projects to design clients in MN, WI, SD, and ND! Kim earned her design degree from the University of MN and brings with her 20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry. A founding member and past president of NEWH North Central chapter, she is currently serving as chapter membership chair. An avid gardener, Kim’s botanical bounty boasts 35 peony bushes. We kick off the new year paying tribute to our most seasoned colleague, Dave Mullin! Dave is Remington’s Vice President of Sales and so much more - dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, active in his church, golfer, and avid traveler, making 17 trips to Aruba. As a young lighting buyer for Philadelphia retail icon Strawbridge & Clothier, he so impressed Remington’s owners, they hired him away to become VP of Sales. Nearly 40 years later, his accomplishments are too ...endless to count. A self-described raconteur, Dave’s stories about life and lighting hold you spellbound with anticipation and amusement. Always willing to go above and beyond for clients, colleagues, and his family, his commitment to excellence sets a gold standard. He’ll take one for the team, traveling to Aruba to make sure clients are completely satisfied before placing a production order. A favorite story Dave recounts are youthful summers in Atlantic City, NJ with his Italian grandparents. He had an uncle in the club scene who introduced him to Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Jane Mansfield. Imagine 6-year-old Dave seated at the bar chatting with Dean Martin, a smoke and a martini in hand. No, not Dave! He drank Coke and noshed bar peanuts. It was a dimly lit early afternoon before opening. Dino had to break away from their chat to rehearse with Jerry for the evening show. With Dave’s vivid description, you are whisked to magical moments in time. Thank you, Dave, for your dedication, comradery, creativity, insightfulness, and storytelling.
