Raise your hand if you struggle with planning meals Do you feel like this sabotages your weight loss progress? Recently a client told me that she struggles with consistent meal planning. She then finds herself grabbing whatever foods are around that are quick and easy, or she'll order take out. She knows this is slowing her weight loss progress and keeping her further from her goal. If you can relate, check out the suggestions I shared with her to make meal plann...ing a weekly habit: Create your meal plan on a Friday. That way you can use the weekend to grocery shop and prep your meals. Set aside time on your calendar so that you commit to it. Prioritize it like you would any other appointment. If you need to prep any food, do this on the weekends so that you have it ready to go on Monday. When planning dinners, cook larger portion of so that they yield leftovers. Use those leftovers for other dinners or for lunches. This is the "Cook once eat twice" rule. This will significantly reduce the number of meals you need to cook each week, and it will reduce the time it takes to create your meal plan. Don't be afraid to repeat meals that you and your family enjoy. Everyone likes tacos? Great, add them to your plan each week but vary them up. Black bean tacos, chicken tacos, fish tacos... change it up to make meal planning fun! My client has set a goal to create a meal plan each week for the month of January and I know she's going to crush it. Do you need more strategies like these to help you lose weight? I can help. Click the link in my bio to apply for coaching today. #weightlossgoals2021 #2021goals #loseweightforgood #weightlossideas #healthymindset #changeyourmindset #womensupportingwomen #weightlossjourney #weightlossmindset #weeklyweightloss #weightlossmotivation #weightlosshelp #weightlosstips #weightlosstipsforwomen #weightlosssupport #weightlosssuccess #weightloss #womensweightloss #womenlosingweight #eatingforweightloss #eatrightforlife #dietchange #dietchanges #menopauseweightloss #menopauseweightgain #menopausenutrition #loseweightnowaskmehow #weightlosssuccess #tipsforweightloss #dietforweightloss See more

Give me a if you agree. If you find yourself dealing with unwanted food cravings throughout the day, you're not alone. It's one of the most common things I hear when clients reach out to me. Now don't get me wrong, occasional cravings for certain foods are fine and it's important to honor those cravings when they occur. However, if you find that you're cravings are happening daily and they are creating a roadblock for your weight loss goals, here are two things tha...t can really help. 1. Eat enough throughout the day. Skipping breakfast and settling for a 100 calorie yogurt is not enough. Your hunger will chase you all day long in the form of cravings. You've got to fuel your body correctly for it to feel satisfied. Eat a balanced breakfast and lunch so that about half of your calories are consumed by mid afternoon. 2. Balance your meals with plenty of protein and fiber. Aim for 20-25g of fiber minimum through foods like fruit, veggies, whole grains, beans and legumes. Also be sure to include a 3-4oz serving (size of your palm) of protein on your plate at main meals. Choose things like eggs, fish, chicken, turkey, lean cuts of beef or plant based protein like edamame or tofu. Try these suggestions for a week and see how it helps your cravings subside. Raise your hand if you're tired of restricting foods that you love This week I had the pleasure of speaking with one of my weight loss clients about this exact topic. She was sharing with me how she's starting to change her mindset around food, and how good that feels. In the past, she would tell herself she "couldn't" have or "shouldn't" have particular foods if she wanted to lose weight. It left her feeling restricted, deprived and HUNGRY. She knew it ...wasn't working (she wasn't losing weight) but she didn't know how to fix it or what to do. Once we talked about how to approach eating differently, she started to gain clarity and more freedom around food. Here's what my client has been working on in the last 4 weeks. Understanding the right amount of calories her body needs Planning and tracking her meals so that she's eating enough throughout the day and not pushing through her hunger No longer denying herself of her favorite foods. If they fit into her caloric profile and her macros, she enjoys them freely Oh and by the way... she's currently lost 8LBS!!! Ladies....This. Stuff. Works. I love helping women achieve their goals and improve their relationship with food. Give me a if you can relate. Is there anyone in your life right now who is actively engaged in a fad diet? Are they telling you how amazed they are with the amount of weight they're losing per week? Are you wondering if you should do the same thing? Don't believe it. ... Fad diets that promise rapid weight loss are just a gimmick. They don't have your best interest (or your health) in mind. And any time we lose weight quickly we put ourselves at risk of gaining that weight back. How frustrating is that? Weight loss should be more like a marathon vs a sprint. Create a plan, start gradually, make small progress each week, and in the end you'll go further than any of your friends because you'll create long lasting sustainable habits that allow you to keep the weight off for good Are you in need of weight loss coaching and support? Fascinating article about SIBO which stands for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. I've been working with SIBO clients for a while. It can often present like IBS (bloating, pain, diarrhea, constipation or a combo of the two) and it can lead to a lot of aversions to certain foods or food sensitivities. There are several dietary protocols that have been researched and can be affective in alleviating SIBO symptoms. The low FODMAP diet is one. But it's important to know how... to implement that diet and to work with a qualified practitioner who can guide and support you. It's also not the only piece to the puzzle. When I work with clients who have SIBO I put together a comprehensive plan to get you feeling well and able to enjoy food again. Raise your hand if you're guilty of having an "all or nothing" attitude about weight loss How has that worked for you so far? If you're like many of the women I've coached, you've had moments when you tried to make a ton of changes all at once. Maybe it was counting calories, giving up carbs, exercising like a mad woman, and obsessing over labels. You may initially succeed, but chances are it won't last for very long. That's because it's unrealistic for any of u...s to make too many changes at one time when we are trying to build new habits. When we put that much pressure on ourselves, we get really frustrated when we don't succeed. And that makes us feel like giving up. When it comes to successful weight loss, it's important to shift your mindset and focus on creating long lasting habits that lead to sustainable results. The goal is to set yourself up for success not failure. The way to do that is to put your time and energy into setting goals, making one small change at a time, and letting go of the idea of perfectionism. Because *NEWS FLASH* nobody's perfect! Are you looking to change your weight loss mindset? Are you in need of support and a plan? If so, click here http://bit.ly/3crWCs7 to apply for coaching today. Raise your hand if you can relate! If you crave sweets in the afternoon, despite having plenty to eat at lunch, you're not alone. It's common for the women I coach to come to me saying they experience sugar cravings mid day. That's why I teach them some key principles about plate balance that help them reduce cravings and give the candy jar the old 1-2 ... If you're feeling the same way, save this post and follow these simple tips: 1. Make sure your lunch includes a proper serving of protein. A serving size for women is about 3-4 oz of foods like chicken, fish, turkey, or tofu. This is about the size of the palm of your hand, up to your knuckles. 2. Be sure to include a serving or two of fat at your lunch. Examples include 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil or up to a 1/2 of an avocado. 3. Make sure you're balancing your calories throughout the day and not eating too little food. A 100 calorie yogurt for breakfast and a 200 calorie salad at lunch is not enough. I generally recommend consuming at least half of your calories by the middle of the day. Doing these things will keep your blood sugar balanced, will keep you fuller longer, and will help to seriously reduce cravings. Interested in learning more?
