The following film was created as part The Zoe Project's Online Storytelling Festival. https://zoeproject.ptsem.edu/churches/st-marks-episcopal/ As many of you ...may know, Saint Mark's has been involved with The Zoe Project since 2017. The Zoe Project is dedicated to building life-supporting, faith-transforming relationships between young adults and Christian congregations. Between 2017-2020, twelve congregations set out together on a 3-year learning pilgrimage, sponsored by Princeton Theological Seminary, to learn how to build better relationships with young adults, and nurture their spiritual lives. Funded by the Lilly Endowment’s Young Adult Innovation Hub initiative, each church commissioned an intergenerational team of Zoe Fellows to work together to design ways young adults and congregants could support each other’s lives and faith. From this, RISE - Philadelphia was born. RISE, currently based out of The Church of The Crucifixion and in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, uses the craft of bread-making to create meaningful community by gathering those aged 21-35. RISE provides spiritual food through engaging presentations and empowering discussions for those who are seeking meaning, connection, and the opportunity to rise up in service and stand up for justice. The bread we make together feeds those who are suffering from hunger and food insecurity.

We are missing the opportunity to gather in person for fellowship, bread-making, and stimulating conversation. But many of us are making lots of bread these days! Here's the recipe that we use every time we gather for RISE. It's simple, quick, and delicious. Enjoy, be well, and stay safe.
