With the crazy weather we have been experiencing in East Central PA, water hazards become a reality. This information offered by PSDiver Monthly is being offered by our team to help inform our community members to stay out of flooded areas. A simple swirl in water can pull someone down and trap them underneath causing a potential drowning situation. Please beware of flooded areas and avoid them at all costs! Credit: PSDiver Monthly
Public Safety Announcement: Please avoid going to waters that are obscure and hard to access. Please utilize swimming locations that are recognized and designated for swimming activities. Dive Teams, such as ours, hope for a season of no-responses. However, to those that Ryan Twp Public Safety Dive Team serve, we are here and response-ready to be of help in the event of an untimely need. Please stay safe this warm weather season and beyond.

Our dive team members out helping another community with an underwater project on Monday Oct. 14, 2019.
Helping a local community provide a better resource in case of a fire.
With these high Temps and humidity levels please if you have a wild fire, dwelling fire or major incident don't forget REHAB for your personnel so there are no issues, and everyone goes, home.
This is good information for those that swim at areas that lifeguards are not present and EMS is not close. Airway management is essential with proper ventilation of the victim. Please read the article to understand why Hands-Only CPR is not going to provide a chance of changing the outcome of drowning.

Ryan Twp. Public Safety Dive Team would like to extend an opportunity to our fellow surrounding fire stations for another night of education of Engine Company Operations on Dive Calls. With most fire districts having some sort of water locations within your coverage area, doesn't it make sense to know how to respond if the call for a water emergency presents itself? In cooperation with Like-Da-Fish Scuba, Ryan Twp. Public Safety Dive Team encourages our fire counterparts to... gain knowledge on how to manage this type of situation. If you are interested in gaining this knowledge, message or email the administrators on this page and we will be happy to help your team get this vital informational session for dive related emergencies at a location close to you.
Ryan Twp. Public Safety Dive Team would like to thank Fred Bales of Like-Da-Fish Scuba for presenting Engine Company Operations on Dive Calls for Hometown Fire, Ryan Twp Fire, and Lehighton Fire and Dive Team. We also thank Hometown for opening their hall for the presentation.
