Adult Sunday School Class why is the Spirit not active today?

Come unto me (a way out of the life) During the last five months (and I am keeping the timeframe deliberately vague so as not to actually name names) I have see...n and heard of some people who are living in a life style counter to the Bible. I have also noticed that in these cases there is a propensity to always have alcohol in hand. Almost as if they have to stay drunk to be able to handle their lives and what they are going through, living with, doing. I am not casting blame, nor judgment. I am going to give the answer to this problem if anyone wants to get to the answer. Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. This means those who struggle, who have questions, doubts about their choices, yet they can not rise above, for they see no other alternative, They see no other way. That way is Christ. Or perhaps you are at the point that you say, God can not accept me after all I have done. Yes He can. He loves you, He died for you and He wants you to come to Him. The church will not and I repeat Will not catch on fire if you go in. You will not burst into flames spontaneously. Christ died for you. Or perhaps you/they can not change for the people around you/them will not/can not let you/them change, for if they let one out of that life, it throws doubt on all in that life as to exactly what they are doing. If you are around people that will not let you out, let you change, then run, don't walk, run away as fast as you can. You do not want "friends" that do not want what is best for you. If ever you have drifted away from God, remember the return is but one step, no matter the length of the journey astray. Christ Himself knows there are those laboring under sin, who want out, who want a way to get this monkey off their back. He gives the way, He says Come unto me. Christ says come unto me and I will give you rest. I will give you rest from the sin, from the wear and tear of that sin. I will help you out of that sin, and then I will give you peace and understanding, and a path home. If this is you or someone you know, and alcohol the moment you or they wake, till bedtime, is a must, let me tell you that is a cry for help. They are quieting the call of the Spirit, the knowledge of something wrong, they are screaming for help. If you see someone like this perhaps instead of helping them drown their sorrows, you bring Christ to them that they may know peace and rest. Constant alcohol or drug use indicates a problem, an awareness of a problem, for they are trying to escape this problem(s). Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life, He calls all to Him no matter the life, the sin, the struggle. He loves you, He wants you to be free from the guilt and sin prevalent among men.
