Saint Joseph Cemetery Warren

We are kindly asking everyone to respect the cemetery, we only have 2 employees that run the entire cemetery which includes all the mowing, trimming (unless we can get some help from the county jail), selling of plots, crypts, niches, stones and doing all the funerals where we do NOT have the extra time to constantly be picking up after everyone. We ask that the cemetery garbage cans to be used for cemetery grave waste such as flower clippings, flower pots etc. We do NOT put garbage cans out for people to clean out the inside of their vehicles or to bring your garbage from home up here and drop it off we will start turning people in for this as we should not be responsible to pay for your garbage to be disposed of. We need everyone’s help this has to stop now! We are looking for the individual(s) involved that has ran into a Grey Bench on top of the hill? The bench is broken now that someone had purchased for their loved one. SOMEBODY knows something about this and I wish you would do the right thing and fess up it’s very simple just I accidentally hit a bench at the cemetery and damaged it short and sweet and it’s over with. It’s a beautiful morning and supposed to be a beautiful day everyone enjoy your day while we are trying to get your cemetery looming as beautiful as we can before Memorial Day! If you come to the cemetery today make sure to wave hello to all the cemetery workers who have been here working since 6:30 this morning

After fixing a couple of water leaks and water faucets because someone had ran over them without telling us! If you or someone you know hits something up here rather it’s a baby stone, sign, pole, tree, headstone etc please do the right thing and report it to us. For the most part we won’t even have you fix the repairs depending what damages are done we would just like to be aware of it before someone else tells us about it. Last year we had 3 trees get run over yes 3 yes tre...es along the roadways do you think anyone reported it to us NOPE. The water is on at this point if you see a leak PLEASE CALL SHAWN YOUNG 814-730-3244 ASAP!! We have a bush that was hit(backed into or something between the hours of 3:00 (15:00) yesterday and 11:00 this morning. We will remove the bush tomorrow along with the other big overgrown ugly bush tomorrow so you don’t run over the other bush and damage your car. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the Mothers out there. Without you this would wouldn’t have such amazing people like yourselves. As this virus is preventing a lot of people from traveling but for the ones that can please continue to stay careful so we don’t give our Mothers a gift they don’t want keep your distance and remember sometimes words mean much more than hugs!

Huge shout out to these 4 girls that came to the cemetery yesterday and helped put out flags THANK YOU girls!! I know some of you look forward to doing this each year and so do I. I love watching the little ones walk up to each marker with the respect that they do. Harper was so cute to watch her run back to where she left off after she ran back to the truck to get more flags. Thank you again girls we really appreciate the respect that you have for each flag and the help that you gave.

Please Read this post!!! We have noticed a few Military Markers that have been moved around within the last few weeks. We were contacted yesterday by a family that told me about their families Veterans Marker (flag holder) had been taken and replaced with a complete different one with a complete different war which is very upsetting to think some people have NO respect for anything and would do such theft. We are asking for your help, if you have a loved o...ne, friend, neighbor etc that is supposed to have a Veterans Marker (flag holder) and it is missing or not the correct war time to PLEASE stay calm but call the cemetery superintendent Shawn Young and I will get a new marker placed ASAP. We have contacted the Pennsylvania State Police and the Warren County Veterans Office and they will be working very closely with us to make sure we can get all these markers replaced as quickly as possible. Please do not wait till Memorial Day to look as we may not be able to get replacement markers from the Courthouse over the weekend and Holiday. We are asking everyone to PLEASE SHARE this message for everyone to see and show the respect to the Veterans so we can get these graves properly marked out before the Holiday! We are also asking everyone to keep an eye out at the cemetery and PLEASE report any unusual, suspicious behavior to the Pennsylvania State Police Warren Barracks at 814-728-3600 Trooper Reken! Just a friendly reminder that WE ARE following the cemetery bylaws as things were being taken advantage of. With that being said there is a bunch of Christmas Wreaths that are still on the graves which according to page 10 of the rules and regulations under wreaths it states that ALL Christmas Wreaths to be removed by Good Friday which was 10 days ago. Of all times NOW is when we WILL BE the nice guys again if you need us to hold your wreath because of the COVID-19 - Stay a...t Home Order we will hold them for 15 days but you must CALL THE CEMETERY OFFICE BEFORE MONDAY April 27, 2020, we do NEED everyone’s cooperation this year please. We don’t have the extra manpower and time to be running around picking up after everyone. As of Monday April 27, 2020 ANY Christmas Wreaths that are at the Cemetery WILL BE THROWN OUT!! As much as we all want to get together with family and friends just remember we are still all at risk and you could have this nasty virus and not even know it! Be smart and play your part! Use your social media to FaceTime your family and friends, or your telephone stay home enjoy the holiday with your personal family that lives with you! There was a family that had a get together for a birthday with immediate family and within days later the entire family was diagnosed with Covid-19 and all they did was had a birthday get together with the family ONLY! We are doing AWESOME in Warren County let’s continue this trend and show that Warren County on the map that had only 1 cases during this crisis. Happy Easter everyone PLEASE STAY SAFE!

As the nicer weather is here and coming we want to remind everyone of a few things. 1. This weekend is Easter which means it’s time for EVERYTHING to be removed from the cemetery graves, that includes but not limited to Christmas Wreaths, artificial flowers, old flower pots etc 2. We are going to be running on a VERY short hand this year and WE need your help most importantly by FOLLOWING THE RULES which are ported (if you don’t know what you can do please ask we are very fr...iendly guys and easy to get along with 3. We are going to be looking for some volunteers this year to assist with lawn mowing, trimming, cleaning etc. 4.
