On Father’s Day, we pray for those who are fathers or wish to be fathers, for those with broken or strained relationships, for those who are missing their fathers, and for fathers who have lost children. We rejoice in God’s enduring love for all people.

St Francis Prayer Lord, make me a channel of your peace. That where there is hatred, I may bring love. Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort, than to be comforted, To understand than to be understood, To love that to be loved. For it is by forgetting self that one finds. It is by forgiving that one is forgiven, And it is by dying that one awakens to eternal life. *This is the version of the St Francis Prayer that St Teressa of Calcutta prayed.

Twenty Five things I love about Jesus! Number 18 His Understanding!!!!... He came here to understand us and he lived as us to do just that! He experienced temptation, rejection, loneliness, grief, people depending on him, pain, sadness, frustration, loss, separation, tears, mockery, deception, abuse, death. And he came to show us how much he loves us by taking away the sin of the world. He lived these experiences for us. The sin in this world tried to take him down....tried and failed. Victory is his....and because it is his, it is ours!!! Psalms 118:5 Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.

These are isolating times. Check on your neighbors. Deliver a meal. Make that phone call. Care for homebound members of your congregation. Look after one another.
