GUESS WHAT!!! Our family grew by one. one really cute, handsome puppy MAL-I-GATOR!!! I already have one crazy brother, I suppose another can’t hurt. His... name is Sigvard, aka Siggy, which is an old family name- meaning victorious defender. I can’t wait to teach him all my tricks, especially how to sucker the parents for more treats. Thanks to Hagner Strong K9!!!! We love him already. Update: Siggy will be raised as a family dog, not a working dog. However, we fully expect him to keep up with my awesomeness and learn all his manners. On this day, every year since 9-11-01, as a NY 9-11 first responder, Im always feeling extremely depressed, questionable, and I shut down. Every year, I feel br...oken, very distant...and today for the first time in 19 years..I slept most of the day away.. managing the best of my flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, grief, sadness, anger... every emotion possible... of that traumatic & traumatizing day.. re-living every moment all over again.. I shelter myself .. stuck in that time frame.. to waking up at 5:30pm this afternoon to my strong and stable beautiful family by my side.. awaiting for me to snap out of it all day..!whose my greatest gift of all, from up above.. I can honestly say, I’m beyond grateful for God, Family and Friends. I love you all, so much for being a huge part of my life changing journey to a very successful, after suregery, after life Many blessings to come and to go. Even through the toughest times, all of my mentors, LVPG/LVHN doctors. (Nicolas Teleo, Samer Alkhuja, Karthik Sheka, Denise Castro...), Trainers, My Facebook heroes, colleagues, school alumni, friendships from all over the world.. I appreciate every day I wake up and open my eyes. Thank you to all of you who have inspired me, in return I hope my story inspires you. I’ve overcome and adapted most of my life through many life challenging obstacles and struggling with morbid obesity induced by side effects from steroids.. I was told I had 3 years to live, several years ago and my doctors have kept me alive through a widows maker heart attack, triple pneumonia, the covid pandemic, through diabetic comas, and once upon a time, through the very faint light at the end of a very long dreary and dark tunnel, I finally had an opportunity of a lifetime.. I also want everyone to know that my 14 year old son, James Christopher Hagner Jr., has endured and suffered right along with me, with obesity and was harrassed, targeted and bullied for years, because of his weight.. his depression was from watching me suffer, knowing my lungs would never grow back, and my inoperable aneurysm on my hearts aorta, will never heal..he was always by my side.. and never gave up a moment to spend with me.. he struggled with eating and for the longest time he couldn’t get the weight off.. when I lost weight he went right along with me but he did it naturally. The will power it took my son to lose 100 pounds in under one year, at his age is simply incredible. Now he’s a wide receiver for his high school football team, and in criminal justice as a first time ninth grader where we live. our journey couldn’t be possible without each other. I love you Juna. I have been mom and dad to you your whole life and that’s never going to change. My little boy turned into a fine young gentleman in under one year. I couldn’t be more proud of him. I hope our story inspires you to never give up. To get out of bed, turn on your motivational determination and set goals each and every day. You should never back down or give up on your dreams. Your story isn’t over, even if you start over, it’s just a new chapter of a new beginning. The best advice i could give is to go through my posts and read my incredible story. Life’s not over and you should always reach out for help and support , especially if you feel like you’re stuck.. don’t let life’s obstacles stop you from reaching for the stars. Everything takes time, patience and effort.. there is NO ONE EASY BUTTON in life, or I would’ve hit it from day 1 of my health struggles.. if you need to change your life like I did, to be able to enjoy it, the ONLY buttons to press are the ones on your phone to your nearest doctors office for a referral to a bariatric specialist, to schedule a life changing appointment.
