WE’RE HIRING! We are currently accepting applications for a full time kennel attendant. Saved Me Rescue is one of Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelters. We have saved over 11,000 animals since our start 10 years ago. We are looking for a kennel attendant who will be responsible for performing all duties related to sanitizing, cleaning, feeding and caring for the animals at the shelter. Kennel attendant will also be required to transport animals as needed in company vehicle.... Successful applications must be able to: Work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Handle, process, assess, feed, water, and monitor the disposition of all animals in our care. Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and equipment in a sanitary manner; perform on-going and preventive maintenance tasks associated with shelter facilities and equipment. Provide prompt, courteous customer service, greeting the public as they enter the shelter, and assist customers in selecting pets for adoption. Provide guidance and assistance to volunteers. Safely transport animals . Perform additional tasks as assigned. Prior experience working with animals in a shelter environment is preferred but not required. Louie's heart surgery is coming up VERY SOON! We're still raising funds to help his adopter cover the costs. This poor boy came to us as a puppy with a heart murmur and unlike most other puppies never grew out of it. Now he's a 1 year old with a 6/6 heart murmur that puts him at risk of heart failure at any moment. PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED We have 2 litters of puppies coming in on transport this weekend. We’re looking for fosters to take them in for 1-2 months while they grow big and strong before being ready for adoption! Ideal fosters will have another dog already in the home and/or will be willing to take multiple puppies in at once. It’s very important that these puppers be in a home that will continue socialization and training for them. ... We will provide food and supplies as well as coordinate and cover all medical needs. We saw Shelly at ACCT Philly and knew a kennel was no place for this blind senior sweetheart. We immediately scheduled vet and grooming appointments, where we learned that she also has severe dental disease and has been living with untreated diabetes for years! We know adopting an older dog is a big commitment, but we also know Shelly's perfect adopter is out there!
