Recently, two of our county’s elected officials raised some concerns about a Pride Month display of books in the children’s section of the James V. Brown library and suggested that funding for the library may be threatened, should the books continue to be displayed. Their comments were disappointing at best, and revealed a level of intolerance and ignorance that is inexcusable, especially for people who have been tasked with representing our diverse community. In our home... and our cafe, we are always seeking more knowledge and understanding of our community, our craft, and the world. We support the decision by the staff at the James V. Brown library to keep these books on display and we’re proud to live in a community that celebrates diversity in all its forms and is working towards educating Williamsporters of all ages. In light of that, we aim to show our support for the James V. Brown library and for the LGBTQ+ community in general. At the cafe today, we have these lovely cupcakes available for sale. You may pay what you wish and the Sawhorse will match the money raised and make a donation to the J.V. Brown library. Support your local library and have a happy Pride Month Also, the next County Comissioners meeting is at 10am on June 15 at 330 Pine Street, just sayin’ Update! Wow! Tables and chairs, tables and chairswe’ve had just a few seats indoors here at the cafe for a while, but starting tomorrow things will be looking like old times again at the Sawhorse. We are so pleased to announce that we will have our full indoor dining setup back starting Thursday, June 3 (that’s tomorrow!). Who knew that tables, chairs and real plates could be so exciting?! We will continue to sanitize surfaces often (as we always have) and do our absolute best to kee...p our customers and staff safe. Winter Hours: The Sawhorse will be OPEN on December 26, 27, 28 and 31 from 8am - 2pm We will be CLOSED on New Year's Day.... We will be OPEN on January 2 and 3 from 8am - 2pm. We're changing up our annual winter break a bit this year and will be closed for the remainder of January after the 3rd. We will reopen in early February on Thursday the 4th.
