Today's Clinic Question: How do you see the clinics being structured? We will look at putting age groups together so the message will be age appropriate. I have had to opportunity to coach from Tee-Ball to the High School. There is definitely a difference, but all of the same concepts can be taught to all age groups. ... If there are any questions about the clinics, please let the League know and Duane will be sure to answer any questions.

Today's Clinic Question: There are two levels of hitting, what is the difference? In the Hitting 101, we will focus on all the aspects of hitting leading up to actually hitting the baseball (grip, stance, stride, swing). We want to make sure that everyone gets the basics down because no matter what, at the end of the day, if something is messed up with those four things, you will not be able to hit as well as you would like. Hitting 201 will build on Hitting 101 and will concentrate on contact and when appropriate, starting to develop power.

Today's Question: Who Should Attend the Clinics? All players will benefit from the clinics. I will be looking for parents to also interact so they can continue to work with the skills learned at home. Also, I would encourage every coach and their player to attend the clinics. This will help train the player and our league coaches so the players will get a consistent message from whatever coach they are assigned to or drafted by. As I developed these clinics, my philosophy ha...s been You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know, Until You Know It. I have my clinics on a few Major’s level kids and they have all learned something new; and if it not new, it will at least be a refresher. If there are any questions about the clinics, please let the League know and Duane will be sure to answer any questions.

Hello League, For the 2020/2021 Season, SALL added a new Player Development Coordinator to the Board. The individual elected to that position was Duane Gaugler. He has developed learning opportunities for players who plan on registering for the next Little League season and will be assisted by coaches in the League to run the clinics. Over the next week, Duane will answer some questions to provide information on the clinics. Today’s question: Why November, Baseball doesn’t s...tart until March? Attending clinics in the off season can help the player develop the much-needed skills to perform well once the season starts. November provides a window after football and soccer seasons have ended and before basketball games begin. The information learned can be further developed during open facility opportunities in December, January and February. If you expect your player to learn everything they need to know once the season starts, they will be behind. March 15 to June 15 is not enough time to learn the game of baseball. If there are any questions about the clinics, please let the League know and Duane will be sure to answer any questions.
