A Message for Market Frankford Line Riders October 23, 2019 Last night, during the early part of evening rush, a passenger jumped from between cars of a moving westbound train while it was exiting Girard Station in an apparent suicide attempt at 4:02 p.m. This resulted in a service suspension on the Market Frankford Line between 5th Street and Huntingdon station. During the service suspension, shuttle buses were ordered to transport passengers between 5th Street and Huntingdo...n Station. SEPTA police and emergency services personnel were immediately dispatch to attend to the injured passenger. Medics arrived on the scene and successfully transported the passenger to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition. While full service was restored to both east and westbound lines at 5:14 p.m., significant residual delays continued to affect afternoon peak service. We believe it's important to hold ourselves accountable, even in situations not in our complete control, and we think it's important to tell you what happened, and what we did immediately after the fact. We wish a full and speedy recovery to the individual involved in this incident. SEPTA would like to remind all our customers that support is available 24/7. You can reach help by calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at: 1-800-273-8255.
