For this week's #MeetAnInternMonday, we are featuring one of our 3-month interns, Kristin! Kristin is a Pennsylvanian with a bachelor’s in Aquarium & Zoo Scienc...e. In addition, she has a minor in Biological SCUBA Diving and has seven dive certifications. Before coming to the Wild Animal Sanctuary Texas, her previous experience was with the Herps Alive Foundation in South Euclid, OH, National Aquarium, Baltimore, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and ZooAmerica in Hershey, PA. She was also the tank curator for her university’s 1500-gallon saltwater aquarium. She is very excited to be here working with our large carnivorous mammals, as her background up to this point is mainly fish, reptiles, and invertebrates. One of Kristin’s favorite animals at the Sanctuary is Titan, a white tiger. I love him because even though he is the largest animal at the Sanctuary, he is such a gentle giant. She likes watching him play with his ball, which is his favorite toy, and giving him bones on Bone Day. See more
