A quick 18 yards for Tom S. Lack of rotation a major power leak for many golfers. Get those hips turning early to improve path, speed and strike!

Had a great driver lesson with Dennis H. the other day...just received a text from him that made my day. I imagine the part of giving lessons you enjoy the most is making a positive impact on someone's golf game. So just wanted to tell you I shot a 96 at Southmoore last night! Best round I've shot in the past 2yrs. My driver had a lot to do with it. I was in the fairway more then usual. I did hit some bad ones too but I only had your lesson the day before. My playing partne...r even commented on how much better my swing looked. It's a work in progress but already paying dividends. Thanks again!!! - Dennis I love what I do!

Played first 9 holes of 2020 yesterday. Hit the ball well but putting was atrocious the first five holes. To be expected to a point but only four putts for the last four holes. What changed? My Grip. Sometimes putting your hands on the putter in a different way can help change things up and experience different results fast. I would encourage everyone to experiment with different grips. Traditional, cross-handed, the claw, the pencil, etc. ... Yesterday I went from the claw to traditional and made a few putts. It just wasn’t feeling right with the claw and additionally was putting horribly. Yet I putted great with it last year. Don’t be afraid to change it up, but you must practice and experiment with a few to be able to go to them on the course. The point is you must have tools to save a round from getting away from you. This strategy is merely one of them and admittedly not for everyone. Yesterday I was 3 over after five holes with great ball striking and finished 1 over after 9. Another strategy I have used in the past when putting poorly is to putt looking at the hole. This frees up your mechanics and let’s you react to the hole. Try different things and learn from them, so when things go sideways you may be able to right the ship! -Ryan
