Thank you to Creative Philadelphia, Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and all the donors who made this fund possible. While we are still navigating our future in making and sharing music that matters, we are grateful for our inclusion in this gesture of faith in the importance of the arts and culture community.
Right now, Singing City is unable to gather in song. Feeling the need to work together to bring comfort, many of our choir members took to their kitchens! This Saturday was our first drop-off of baked goods for folks who have been staying at Old First Reformed UCC since the outbreak of COVID-19. Thank you to all our choir members who baked, and to those who drove around the Philadelphia area to make this delivery.
It's always been about more than singing, and it always will be. #giamusic #wlpmusic #choir #singing #musicheals #cantstopwontstop #hope #faith #learning #growing #connecting #community #innovating #culturalexploration #virtualcommunity

We're very thankful that the Stetson University Concert Choir Tour included a last-minute stop at the Friends Center today! They treated us along with some of our neighbors at the Friends Center to a few pieces from their touring program. Here's an excerpt from Jocelyn Hagen's "Hands." Timothy Peter, Director

When you make music, remember that your singing truly changes and saves lives. This column reminded us of the Chorus Impact Study - three quarters of singers re...port that choral singing helps them feel less alone or lonely, and nearly as many said that singing helps them socialize in other parts of their lives. Loneliness is a troubling, widespread societal issue, and choral musicians have a powerful gift that can bring healing and connection to our communities. https://www.chorusamerica.org//chorus-impact-study-singing
Some excellent singing at our last rehearsal before "The Road Less Traveled." Singing City and Lyric Fest join together to share songs of searching and belonging at Haddonfield United Methodist Church Saturday evening, and the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral Sunday afternoon. "Uphill" by Jill Tully Friedersdorf and Melissa Trevino Keylock. Thanks Suzanne Duplantis for the camera work!... www.singingcity.org/performance.html
