ADA Calls Upon Dentists to Postpone Elective Procedures (March 16, 2020) The American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes the unprecedented and extraordinary circumstances dentists and all health care professionals face related to growing concern about COVID-19. The ADA is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of the public and the dental team. In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.

To all our Patients: We are open to see patients but we will be calling to screen our patients if you are coming in for an appointment. These are the screening questions we will be asking: 1. Have you traveled to any of these locations in the last 14 days? China... Iran South Korea Italy Spain Japan 2. Have you had contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19 in the last 14 days? 3. Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days? Fever greater than 100 Difficulty breathing Cough 4. Are you currently experiencing fever over 100, difficulty breathing or cough? If you answered yes to question 1 and-or 2, please call your primary care provider or your State Department of Health for further direction. PA State Dept. of Health: 1-877-724-3258 Please do NOT visit a medical facility unless you are severely ill. Please call ahead and let any medical facility know why you are coming. Meanwhile, do not get close to anyone with a compromised immune system or other underlying condition. If you answered no to questions 1 and 2, but yes to numbers 3 or 4, please contact your healthcare provider if symptoms are severe.
