Help our maintenance team keep the fields looking great, they need more help with how much activity is taking place at SYO. Volunteers needed for field maintenance. Maintenance includes mowing and weed whacking. If you are not familiar with how to use the lawn mower, someone will be happy to show you the ropes. Check out the sign up genius for field times and dates. If none of these times work, fill out the open time slot section and tell us what would work (one of us will g...et back to you to see if the fields are open then.) Thank you for helping keep our fields beautiful, it is definitely a lot of work for our volunteer maintenance crew and they would love the help. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B45AAAF29A0FA7-syofield

BASKETBALL UPDATE: as of now, everything is still in a holding pattern. The major issue is available facilities for teams to use. The City and suburban leagues we enter rely heavily on the use of public school facilities. There is some hope that once the schools open back up 100%, and sports are being played safely, the facilities will become available. That being said, SOMERTON BASKETBALL WILL HAPPEN, it just may have a different look. IF there is LEAGUE basketball, ...the leagues won’t be starting up until mid to late January. Our plan: 1) we are looking to start tryouts Monday 11/9. 2) we will form teams as if we are preparing for league play. 3) teams will practice once a week. 4) once things become clear, or a little clearer, we will decide what to do. League play, tournaments, multi age Inhouse, skills and drills are all options. 5) the traditional Inhouse program WILL start January 11, 2021 Hope this helps!
