The CARES Act eliminates the 10% penalty on early withdrawals from retirement plans as well as suspending Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) for 2020. It’s going to be a long road, but every little bit helps.

Please remember that taxpayers should still file by April 15th, 2020. The 90 day extension only applies to the interest and penalties being applied to money owed. And this only applies to Federal returns. You should still check on your state deadlines.
