AvSport of Lock Haven

For those of you who were wondering, our new Bristell TDO (seen in the Cover Photo above) is still hangared in South Carolina, awaiting a break in the weather to fly it home to PA.

Engine on the new Bristell was running rough. I had to replace carb floats (a known and frequent issue with the 912ULS engine). Back together now, and running smoothly. Thanks to Jimmy for lending me tools, Dana for providing the floats, and Todd for letting me work in his hangar.

I came across a sad sight on Lowcountry Regional Airport in South Carolina. This C54, Spirit of Freedom, is a flying museum to memorialize the Berlin airlift. It has been a frequent visitor to the Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven fly-in at Lock Haven. Several months ago, it was severely damaged in a tornado - and here it sits, forlorn and awaiting repairs.

Master taildragger instructor Todd Givens, of Ace Basin Aviation at Lowcountry Regional Airport in Walterboro SC, is checking Paul out in his new Bristell.
