A Letter to Our Community: SquashSmarts is saddened by, and condemns, the actions at our nation’s Capitol this week. SquashSmarts strives to teach children the ...importance of personal and civic responsibility through positive relationships. SquashSmarts fosters students to become active adults who value civility, service, sportsmanship, and respect for their fellow citizens. Individuals who take violent action in response to democratic processes and desecrate an American institution are the antithesis to those lessons which we, as educators, work to instill in our young people. SquashSmarts recognizes a double-standard, whether conscious or unconscious, shown by various institutions in comparison to the planning and resources made available during the 2020 protests for justice as evidence of biases that persist in our country which must be addressed. SquashSmarts is committed to continuing to create forums for our Students, Alumni, Staff, Families & Friends to engage in meaningful, inclusive conversations. We missed the big partybut our kids didn’t miss out on the gifts! We loved delivering our holiday gift bags to all of our students’ homes last week.
