Announcements: Thank you to Pastor Clarence Miller for Preaching yesterday's Sunday Service at St. James Lutheran Church. Next Sunday, September 6, 2020 we plan to offer Holy Communion. A candle light Prayer vigil will also be offered next Sunday at 7:00pm in the Courtyard to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Todd Andell's death. Finally, a 9/11 service with Civic Association, Police and Clergy will be held on Friday 9/11/2020 at 9:00am in the main Church. All are welcome to attend these services. Thank you!

Announcements: Exciting events are scheduled to take place in September at St. James Lutheran Church. There will be a 911 Commemorative Service of Remembrance at 9:00am on that Friday morning. Local city and state representatives will be invited as well as area clergy and community residents. The Northwood Civic Association has accepted our apology and has decided to return to our community Church for their meetings; meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7...:00pm unless otherwise announced. A large outdoor flea market is scheduled for September 12, 2020 (more information to come on table availability soon). N.A. will be returning on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm, and possibly an additional N.A. Monday Meeting at 7:00pm. With Covid-19, vacations, the extreme heat, and higher utility costs Council has decided that August Worship Services will move to the Cider-Peterson room with the exception of August 16th where Sunday Service will be held in the Courtyard. August 9th our Congregation has been invited to Old Zion Church for Worship Service at 628 N. Broad Street. The indoor flea market will continue on August 16th as well. If we do not have your email please forward it to [email protected] if you would like to be included for Zoom Sunday Service. And, St. James will be reestablishing its newsletter so please make sure we have your home address as well. Most importantly, our Church has the capacity to adequately socially distance 70 people. We are hoping to see more members in person in September in our beautiful Church. In these uncertain times Church is where we ALL need to be. Additionally, Donations/Offerings are a necessity to keep our Church doors open so please make consistent offerings moving forward. Thank you! See more

UPDATE: An exciting program for our neighborhood children will be offered the week of August 17th, 2020. Summer Blast is a program of self discovery camps; it will be offered to children from 3rd to 7th grades in Art, Music, Exploring Nature, Basketball and Theater. Space is limited for each program and the registration fee will be $10.00 per child. Please email [email protected] WITH your name, your child’s name, your telephone number and which camp your interested in to get your child registered. Thank you!

UPDATE: St.James Lutheran Church is looking to invest in a Shed. We have found one that is priced great and that will surely add to the beauty of the side lawn ...while giving us the additional space we need. Since funds are limited we would like to ask for YOUR HELP. The price including delivery and installation is $3500 dollars. If your able to donate it would be deeply appreciated.
