Dear Parishioners, I would like to wish you and your families a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to celebrate family. Please do not limit your family meal to the half time of the football game. Spend time and enjoy each other along with your meal. Also, do not forget to thank God for his many blessings. As you may know, Governor Tom Wolf has mandated wearing masks in all public buildings. I would encourage you to wear a mask when attending mass. Thank you for your cooperation and let us continue to pray for one another. God bless you, Father Bungo

Dear Parish Family members and friends, As I communicate once again with you, I pray and hope that you are staying safe, and well as we continue to deal with the Corona Virus. It appears that things are looking up as vaccines are quickly being developed to deal with this scourge. I want to update you with some of the events and happenings that are taking place at St. Charles and St. Nicholas. Our Faith Formation Program has started. Tina Roy is our new director of religio...us education. Tina has a great work ethic and is well organized. Any support that you can give her will be greatly appreciated. We are also blessed to have wonderful and faith-filled people teaching our children. On August 21st three of our fine young people received the Sacrament of Confirmation. They are Erin Baker, daughter of Steve and Andrea Baker, members of St. Nicholas. From St. Charles, Owen Fricko and Lauren Jamison were confirmed. Owen is the son of Mike Fricko and Angie Shirey. Lauren is the daughter of Larry and Ann Jamison. Congratulations to our confirmandi and their families. On another note, we want to extend our condolences to Linda Clinger on the recent death of her mother, Patricia Boyer. Patricia (85 years old) died on September 11th and was buried on September 15th in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. Please pray for Patricia and all of our deceased. We finally got our new security doors installed at St. Charles. They will make a large impact on keeping our congregation safe. Also, we have live security while our children are attending faith formation classes in our social hall. St. Nicholas had their Annual Pig Roast on September 19th. It was very successful as $4,520.00 was raised for the St. Nicholas Cemetery. Many thanks to all who organized this event, those who sold and bought tickets, and those who worked at the Pig Roast. All of you did a great job! Helen Rerko, the mother of Teresa Cyphert, is suffering from a severe stroke. Please pray for her. Teresa is a very faithful member of St. Charles and very active in the parish. Please pray for her and her family. Any words of support to her would be greatly appreciated. We would also like to say good-bye to Jerry Dwyer, who is moving to Delaware to be with his son. Jerry, who has belonged to St. Charles for many years, is moving as a result of dealing with health issues. His family will be holding a goodbye for Jerry in the Social Hall following the 5:30 pm mass on Saturday. All are welcome. Please pray for Jerry and his family. I would like to thank everyone who has shared the vegetables from their garden with me. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank everyone who continues to support St. Charles & St. Nicholas financially. We wouldn’t be here without you. God will never forget the sacrifices you make for his Church. You are the best. Until next time God Bless you, Father Bungo See more
