We have a new website! SaintMaryPokrova.com, courtesy of parishioner Will Geiger. Many thanks to Mr. Paul Gresh, parishioner and parish historian, who launched St. Mary's first website and maintained it over the many years.

Very Rev. Michael Kerestes of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, and Archpriest Very Rev. Jim Hayer presided over a blessing of the opening of Lanahu Ales, a new brew pub in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. Owner George Merenich accepted holy water and a cross from Fr. Hayer, pastor of St Thomas The Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, Rahway, New Jersey. The pair have been friends since childhood. There's no more important decision in the political arena than protecting the right to life of the unborn!... https://www.breitbart.com//u-s-christians-celebrate-surge/

Thank you to our Veterans for your service and sacrifices! With respect, honor, and gratitude, we especially remember the men from St. Mary's who died for their country: Nicholas Evans, Harry Fetsco, Joseph Hohol, Andrew Ondish, Jr., Robert Ondish, John Sambo, Emil Tomasak, George Urick. Eternal rest grant unto them O' Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. Vichnaya Pamyat'!

This past weekend we celebrated the Feast of the Holy Archangel Michael and all angelic powers. Did you know? In the village of Osturna, Slovakia, where many of St. Mary's founding families came from, Saint Michael is the patron of the village church AND the centerpiece of the village's heraldry.
