When I photograph families, I pose em in flattering positions and beautiful lighting and then do a couple magic tricks to get them interacting naturally...BUT LET ME JUST TELL YOU. I barely told these precious specimens to plop on the bed and then this tender moment happened. I squealed so loud through the viewfinder, the folks down in TX heard it. Have I told y’all lately how much I love this job?

If you would've told me 10 years ago that I'd be here today, photographing the love stories of couples and families, I probably would've cackled right in your face. AN ARTIST?! Art was my least favorite subject in school and my Canon Powershot only saw the light of day for selfies with friends. But life is kinda funny that way, right? It can twist and turn in all sorts of directions, dropping you right on a path you never imagined being on. You probably won't realize it at th...e time, but your greatest trials can be your greatest testimonies. Little did 17-year-old me know, that my greatest trial thus far would be the start of my greatest passions and purpose in life - motherhood and photography (& maybeeee even some midwifery in there some day?! #alwaysdreaming). Something so. dang. tough. became the turning point of everything for me. And boy am I thankful for it. Thankful for all of it & all of you - for being here, supporting my dream and following along and with all the adventures in my little corner of the internet. I never take it for granted, not one little bit. I hope you look around and see all the precious blessings in your life and live in thanksgiving everyday, not just during the holidays. Because friends, there is SO much to be grateful for.
