As you all are aware, we requested a hearing with our joint council executive board about the new ups building being built in the Teamsters local 623 jurisdiction. We are having our hearing for the jurisdictional dispute between our local & local 384. I've been asked many many times about this new building especially being that it is in our local charter & local jurisdiction.... Soon we should have an answer.

These are the days and times for our rallies: Tomorrow morning, 630am at Oregon ave. Tuesday, 430 pm at PHL west gate. Wednesday, 630am at PHL west gate.... If you hate disrespect, If you value human personality & self worth, If you believe in essential workers, If you believe all labor has dignity, then come out to these rallies as we fight for & stand with the greatest workers in history. Covid-19 didn't stop ups' profits because of our members, in fact their stock soard. None of that would've been possible without our members. Now it's time to show up. The company is counting on you not being out there. They care nothing about you & they continue to show it. Now its time to show them the power you have. This Monday, October the 19 meet us at our Oregon Avenue building at 630am Then again on October 20th at PHL at 430pm. Also on October 21st meet us at PHL at 630am. The fat cat will be out & we will let our members know WE STAND WITH YOU.... Our members have worked through a pandemic & put their lives as well as the lives of their families on the line & this is the disrespect you get. Now the company wants to hire people at a higher rate & disrespect your labor. You recieved no hazard pay, no appreciation, all while the company's stock soared. You worked on days off & were threatened with discipline if you didn't come in. The company & IBT have the same answer when I asked them about this. They both said "at least you guys have benefits & a pension" This is not just about the 16.50. They don't understand, you can't put a price tag on dignity, self worth & self respect. Your labor is priceless & its time for us to show them. "Dues make you a member, actions make you a Teamster"

In honor of breast cancer month & to our members who are battling breast cancer & those who have beat it, thanks for being an inspiration. We continue to make & form history here at Teamsters local in Philadelphia "where bad things happen". We hit over $100k in 9.5 grievances.... We haven't even added the sup working totals. This is a testament to our new vision & plan that was implemented in January. The members of our local have come together & decided to hold this company accountable. This is just a small demonstration of that 623 members have the power, lets keep using it & get more of our members to use it.
