Please join us in praying for those in the path of Hurricane Delta: Almighty God, by the power of your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the boundaries of the sea, and still the wind and the waves. Surround the people of the Gulf coast with your grace and peace, and preserve them through this storm. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and and fill them with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Registration for the Gathering is open! What exactly is the Gathering? Most importantly, it will be a joyful feast while also holding lament over the broken pla...ces of our world. The Gathering exists to equip and refresh practitioners working in justice and mercy ministries. Our hope each year has always been to offer a space for workers to come and unfold, feast in a sharing of ideas and fellowship, and be sent back out with a refreshed sense of purpose and hope in daily work. While all of us are frustrated with non-incarnated spaces, we will offer a rich experience of connection, soul care and equipping in October/November 2020. The M25 Gathering will be offered across two separate virtual events: FOR PRACTITIONERS ONLY: Finding Solidarity (Oct 27-29) Affinity group meetings where similar groupings of practitioners will come together for deliberate and more focused time of sharing and fellowship. FOR ALL ACNA PARISHIONERS: 2 Half-Day Virtual Event (Nov 13-14) Archbishop Foley Beach, featured speakers, panel discussions, and a full Soul Care Retreat for all Anglicans in the ACNA. Come join us as we continue we contend for Shalom! You can Register and find more info here: https://bit.ly/3jFWRTy

We are all facing challenging times, but none of this is taking God by surprise. God wants us to have hope in this ever-changing world. As Psalm 42 says twice:... Why are you downcast Oh my soul? And why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God. Listen to this morning’s sermon from St. Charles Cathedral, Washington in the Diocese of Cascadia.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus our Saviour and only Lord! I am writing on behalf of the Gafcon family to let you know th...at Archbishop Ben Kwashi, our General Secretary and Archbishop of Jos, Nigeria, is undergoing treatment for cancer. Archbishop Ben & Mama Gloria along with their children are grateful for your prayers and concern. At this stage there is little to report and the family asks for privacy while treatment continues and further tests are carried out. Please pray for Archbishop Ben, that he will be comfortable and pain free during the chemotherapy, and that it will be effective in dealing with the tumour. Archbishop Ben is very positive, trusting in His Lord for the future and continues to be committed to the clear and effective proclamation of the Gospel. This week he wrote: I want the Bible taught with clarity, integrity and conviction. I want the Bible lived out in real life, changing lives and communities everywhere. I want truth, righteousness and justice to be common in the life of the church, amongst believers and extended to the world. I want the mission of the gospel to be a living experience of the church, insisting on conversion, experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit and bearing the fruit of the Spirit as a mark of discipleship. I want this ministry to children, youth, widows, orphans, aged, and helpless to be a regular mission of the church. May the Word of God spread with speed... May the Gospel of salvation be preached to the world... May the Spirit of God fall afresh on us... May the name of the Lord alone be glorified... Almighty and most merciful Father, whose nature is to be compassionate and kind: Show mercy and compassion on all who struggle this day with cancer, especially Archbishop Ben, on those groaning in pain of the illness and those suffering through the pain of treatment. Give them grace to cast all their cares upon you, assure them of your Presence in their struggles, heal them all by the power of your love, through Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit One God now and forevermore. Amen We will bring you an update when more news is available to be shared. Grace and Peace, The Most Rev. Dr. Foley Beach Chair of the Primates Council

Saint Paul was a single man when the Risen Lord called him on the road to Damascus. He saw his apostolic responsibility to preach Christ (kerygma) and to pass o...n His teaching faithfully (didache). Like Jesus, Paul has relatively little to say about marriage. What he does say conforms to Jesus’ teaching but applies it to a new setting: the ancient world of Greece and Rome. For those of us raised in a Christian culture, it takes a mental leap to grasp the Greco-Roman understanding of sex and marriage. For the Gentiles of St. Paul’s day, there existed a chasm between the two. A Roman man married one wife with whom he produced legitimate heirs. Although his wife was forbidden to have sex outside marriage, the man was free to entertain a variety of sexual liaisons, with other women and men, including slaves and prostitutes, with no shame attached... - Rev. Dr. Stephen Noll. Read today's full devotion on the website here: https://www.gafcon.org//saint-paul-on-marriage-and-the-sin
